Q1. Why do you write?
Answer: I write because it is a passion for me. It is something that stemmed from writing pieces of poetry to my Grandmother when I was young, then faded, and fortunately blossomed again in adulthood. I have many ideas strumming through my head, and to leave it untold would be a shame. I cannot imagine my world without turning a sentence into something with beauty.
Q2. Where do you get your inspiration?
Answer: I become inspired with anything in life, really. Relationships, good or bad, heartache, but particularly things that tug at the heart. Layer that with some spookiness and I'm good to go for writing. I like romance, but I love adding the paranormal thriller in the mix, so ghost stories, etc, spark my interest and help me to ignite my brain a bit into the writing realm.
Q3. Do you have any strange writing habits, if any, what are they?
Answer: No strange writing habits that I know of. LOL
Q4. What is the hardest part of writing for you?
Answer: Sometimes with plot, sometimes with how things are fitting into the story well. I don't like to overthink things , and when I do I know it is time to take a step back and reevaluate. In other words, when it becomes too complicated for me to write, then I need to simplify so it flows well in all respects of the story.
Q5. How important are names to you in your books?
Answer: I feel that they are extremely important. A name is a birthright if you will- there is certain power in it. You will find all the names in my books thus far are different, or have a back story on why I selected them. For example, my first book, Invoke, the protagonists name is," Scarlett," which was suggested by my youngest son. He has a bit of an old soul. My second book, the first of a series, How Deep the Roots Go, the protagonists name is ,"Temperance," which my love had heard on a paranormal investigation show. The ghost being investigated had spoken through a device and whispered that very name. That was a nice sign for my character, and very befitting considering there are very loose imprints of scripture in the book.
