Warm sunlight drifted through the curtains, tingling my skin.

I gasped, realizing I wasn't in my own bed. My eyes fully opened, my heart speeding up at the heavy arm draped over my shoulder. I squirmed to turn around, immediately relaxing as I saw Harry.

His soft curls spread out over the pillow; eyes closed, long eyelashes resting on his cheeks. His plump, pink lips were slightly parted; his wide chest rising and falling as he slept peacefully.

I lifted his large arm; moving it off of my shoulders as I slowly untangled his legs from mine. I sat up, scooting out of bed and examining Harry's room for the first time. In the daylight, that is. Overall, he seemed pretty tidy. Aside from some clothes strewn here and there, his room was spotless. I crept over to the far corner of his room, noticing a guitar next to his dresser.

I whipped around as Harry grunted; turning over and pulling the covers over his head.

I tiptoed out of the room, quickly finding the bathroom and stepping inside. My feet tingled at the cold touch of the tiled floor. I looked up into the mirror, my heart sinking upon seeing my own reflection. Whoever was staring back at me in the mirror looked nothing like myself. I looked horrible. My wavy hair hung messily around my shoulders. Dark circles sat under my red, puffy eyes. I stood staring for what seemed like hours, tears welling up in my eyes.

Harry's tall frame stepped behind me, my head whipping around as I gasped. I turned fully around, looking into his emerald greens eyes. My lips parted as I panted quietly. He towered over me, his full lips slightly pouted, his eyes full of concern.

"Are you okay?" His husky voice asked quietly.

My head dropped; my bare feet suddenly becoming very interesting. We stood in silence for what seemed like forever, his eyes burning into me. "My doctor appointment is today."

He suddenly advanced towards me, causing me to take a step back; bumping into the counter behind me. He paused for a moment before speaking. "I'll be there for you-"

"Will you Harry?" I interrupted. "Because it doesn't feel like it. You keep telling me; over and over, you'll be there for me. But I don't feel it! Okay? I feel completely and utterly alone! Just look at me!" Tears stung my eyes. I knew I was taking all my anger out on him, but I didn't care. "I don't know why I ever told you in the frst place! I should have just gotten rid of the baby so I never had to see you again! Meeting you was my biggest mistake!" Harry's jaw clenched. "You can't just say you'll be there and expect me to be okay! It's not that easy Harry-"

"KATE!" He roared.

I stumbled back, my lower back pinned against the sink as my eyes widened in fear. My heart thumped loudly, but I stood my ground.

"You know Harry, I really believed you for a minute. I really thought I wouldn't be on my own."

I shoved past him, out of the bathroom and into the hallway. I stormed towards the door, yanking it open, only to have Harry's strong arm reach over me and slam it shut.

"You're right."

I stood with my back to him, the muscles in his arm relaxing as his hand dropped from the door.

"I haven't been there for you. But I want to. And I'm going to. Really. I'll prove it to you." He stated firmly.

I swallowed hard, fighting back tears. My small hand wrapped around the door handle, pulling it open and shutting it quietly behind me.

...

I slammed the cab door, quickly paying the driver and stepping up onto the curb.

I unzipped my jacket, letting the warm summer air wash over me. I had stopped at my apartment to change clothes and freshen up a bit before my appointment. I put on a brave face, hiding how scared I really was and pulling open the heavy door partially before pausing. The door fell closed as my head turned to the car door slamming behind me.
