I walk back to my room in silence. I stayed in the gym for about 30 minutes after Prince Charles left. I messed around on a few different machines, but didn't really find anything to interest me. When I make it upstairs, I see girls running back and forth from rooms.

I roll my eyes and hope they won't see me. They don't seem to notice me as I slip into my bedroom. When I walk in, Maybra is humming quietly and looking through my wardrobe. Connor is dusting my vanity. The sound of the door closing behind me causes them both to turn around.

"Lady Ember," they same at the same time. They both curtsy.

"Um, hi," I say. Maybra closes the doors to the wardrobe and hurries over to the table.

"Lady Ember, you received some mail while you were at the gym. We almost came to down bring it to you, but we figured you wouldn't want to be interrupted," she says as she picks up and envelope and brings it over to me. I take the envelope in my hands.

"Thank you, Maybra. Can I go ahead and change out of this before I read it?" I ask. She nods and walks over to the wardrobe. She pulls out a pink, knee length dress. We go into the bathroom and she helps me to restyle my hair and change into the dress.

"Is there a reason why you don't want to read your letter?" Maybra asks after asking me if I want my makeup reapplied to which I responded yes. I quickly shake my head.

"No. I just wanted to get out of my sweaty clothes," I say. She nods but doesn't seem convinced. She applies makeup to my face and then I slide into my dress. When I come out, Connor has laid out—without spilling clothes and jewelry everywhere—a beautiful necklace.

"Here you go," Maybra says as she picks it up and puts it on me. I smile and nod to her.

"Thank you," I say. I walk over to where I put the letter on my bed and open it up. I expect a letter in my mother's cursive that is almost unreadable. I smile brightly, though, when I see who it is from.

Ember,
Hey, Embs. Ugh I hate you for leaving me. Like, seriously, that was a jerk thing of you to do. You could have disguised me and Karigan as your maids and brought us with you. I'm sure they would have let us in. I mean, anything to keep the selected happy, right?

Okay, anyways, while you have been at the palace getting pampered since, well, this morning (It is 10:47 at night but I have to write this now if I want it to get to you by tomorrow) I have been in the middle of all the school drama.

While we were already the popular girls, we really are the popular girls now. Even though there wasn't school yesterday everyone met up at Ollie's yesterday for lunch. We were all sitting there talking about well, whatever, when Christina Marsh came in. She didn't really talk but I didn't pay much attention to it.

So, Angela said something about how lucky you are to be at the palace and Christina did one of the aggravated laugh sigh things and rolled her eyes. So I was like, "Is something wrong?" and she was like, "Yeah, that b!&@# (I have to leave that out in case the guard check it and don't want the selected getting letters with bad words) is at the palace getting what I deserve."

So then I stood up and was like "Oh really? Why do you deserve it?" and she stood up and said, "Because I am an actual lady." Then we exchanged some loud, colorful words and it came down to me saying, "COME AT ME BRAH." and she lunged across the table.

All the people there at Ollie's to enjoy Italian food sure got a show when I pulled out her weave. Some middle aged man who has probably had plenty of strippers at his house really enjoyed all the boobs bouncing around...

But anyways, I am not allowed to eat at Ollie's for the next 5 years... And I am not allowed to leave the house for the next 5 months because Christina's parents called mine to complain because her weave was made from purebred horse horse hair or whatever.

I miss you and want you to know that after I finish this letter I have to write an apology letter Christina because my parents hate me for trying to defend my best friend. Write back about all the girls you have been about to slap there.

Your parents say hey and to remember your promise, whatever that means. Although I think I know what it means... Your brothers also say hey. Karigian wanted me to tell you that she loves you and misses you.

With lots of love,
Lily

I laugh as I read Lily's letter. This wouldn't be the first time she and Christina had a smack down. I can almost guarantee that the others got these nice letters from their parents or siblings while I got a letter from my best friend saying she pulled out a girl's hair extensions for me.

A knock on the door causes me to jerk away from my letter. "Would you like for me to get that for you?" Connor asks, turning away from her dusting. I nod.

"That would be great," I say. She walks over to the door and opens it. I put my letter in the drawer next to my bed and watch her.

When she finally turns back around to look at me, she says, "Lady Bexley would like to see you, Lady Ember." I nod.

"Let her in," I say. She nods and opens the door wider. Bexley walks in with a smile on her face.

"Hey, Ember!" she says in a voice too cheerful for it to have been coming from her.

"Hi," I say. She walks over and climbs next to me on the bed.

"So, where did you go when you left the Women's room?" she asks. I open my mouth to respond, but Maybra stops me.

"Do you need anything?" she asks. I shake my head. "Okay. We will leave you two alone, then," she says. She and Connor briskly file out the door.

"So, where did you go?" Bexley asks. I shrug.

"I came up and hung out in my room for a while and then I went to the palace gym for a while," I say. She raises her eyebrows.

"The palace has a gym?" she asks in a curious tone. I nod.

"Yeah. It is downstairs in a maze of hidden halls," I explain. She gasps.

"We should totally go together sometime!" she says. I nod.

"Yeah! It would be totally-" I start. She stops me after looking down at her watch.

"Hold that thought, honey. I have to go. My maids had some new dresses for me to try on. All the ones they had for me were horrendous," she says. I nod.

"Okay. I'll see you later," I say as she gets up and walks out the door.

I feel like I am about to jinx myself because I have updated everyday for the last 4 days... Anyways, this was a boring chapter but I enjoyed writing Lily's letter. Yeah so comment and vote because I love reading your comments.
