You leaned against the wall mouthing the words of the song you're gonna sing for your audition. You focused on the words and meaning of the song through your (f/c) earbuds.
I need to practice on my pitch. You turned off your music and started to sing.
You started to sing (your favorite song), but you couldn't hit the notes right.
It might be that I'm nervous.
Nonetheless, you practiced again. Same results.
"Hey, um.. do you mind if you could give your opinion on my singing?" You stop to see a guy who was gonna audition since you saw his number tag. "I just need your opinion that's all, ok?"
"Uhh.. yeah. Go ahead." Gesturing him to sing.
"Ok, thanks. By the way, my name is Daniel."
"(Y/N)"
Daniel cleared his throat and started to sing. You tried to figure out what song he's singing, but you think it was by an artist you haven't heard of. "So, how was it?" Smiling, showing off his perfectly white teeth.
"It was really good, I think you'll be ok." Returning the smile and patting on his shoulder.
"Really? Thanks. You know, I heard you singing earlier. I could return the favor of you listening to me sing, I could help you."
"Uhh.. yeah, I wouldn't mind, but we're competing against each other." You were unsure about his offer he smiled at your honesty, nonetheless, he pressed on about helping you.
"Oh yeah, but it doesn't hurt to help someone, right?"
"Ok, umm I'm singing this song, so yeah?" Chuckling at the end to make it less awkward for you. You started to sing, but you crack a little on the high notes, even though you were embarrassed about that, you still went on with the song.
"Well, that was good, but try to breathe in before you hit the note." He walked over to you and placed his hand on top of your stomach. "Ok, now breathe in and hit the same note." You did what you were told, you were surprised at how better you sound.
"Wow. That was better than before." Daniel smiled and giving you a high five.
"So, you're saying I was bad before?" Joking around with him, but he went along with it.
"Yeah, it was. Not as bad as mine though." Puffing out his chest and a big smile plastered on his lips. You both laughed and talked to each other and what you guys would do if you won.
"I think, I would travel around the world and meet celebrities and stuff. What about you?" Daniel thought of his fame and fortune coming to him, you stared at his face thinking he might have a chance.
"I would go on tour and have fun with it, you know?" Dreaming about how this would change your life for the good. "We should get together sometime, like hanging out."
"Yeah, we should. Or, we can meet somewhere like a couple of years from now and see where we are by then."
"Yeah! We should do that, that would really be fun to do." Jumping up and down with excitement, Daniel chuckled and smiled at your childish act.
"But, we have to remember each other when we're famous, ok?"
"Can I have the number tag 1014, please? It's time for your audition." A voice through the microphone and speakers. Daniel stood up and offer to help you up, which you took.
"Well, I guess it's my turn. Remember to breathe in before the note and (Y/N) remember our deal."
"I will. Now go before you won't be able to chase your dreams." You push Daniel to hurry with his audition, he laughed at your way of encouragement. When he got the door, "YOU CAN DO IT DANIEL!" You yelled and everyone cheered him on.
