J Dog- First Leaf

Jorel's POV

Fall. Which means a fall party in my 3rd-grade classroom, why? Because the teacher thinks it's still adorable to have everyone meet each other and give out leaves. Mrs. Henrik wanted everyone to make their own special leaf to give out to someone, like colors, shapes, and some writing on it.

Breathing out, this boring party was making me tired, it was fun to have cake and cookies and whatnot, but now it's time to give out the stupid leaves thing. I sat there waiting for all of my leaves to make their way to me, the people who made them were mostly girls.

"Jorel, I made this leaf for you." She placed her leaf next to my cookie, I looked at it. It wasn't that special, it looked like any other leaf that falls from trees. "I stayed up to make it perfect." She smiled and her hair was in pigtails tied together with a ribbon at the ends.

"Oh, thank you." Behaving with manners as it slightly burned on the inside to tell her how much her leaf sucks. She smiled like it was the best thing that happened to her then she walked around my desk to her friends. I can see her gushing over my simple words and her friends getting jealous or gushing with her.

Turning back, I saw this girl who was sitting in the far corner of the class with her head in a book, maybe it's Goosebumps (which is a pretty awesome book to read).  She looked fine being alone and I looked down at her desk and saw nothing. No leaves. Puckering my lips a little, I looked at every girl's desk and saw at least one leaf on there, turning back towards the lonely girl. She seems kinda cute, her eyes glued the words on the pages so I couldn't see what color they are, maybe it's (e/c)?

"Jorel." I saw Mrs. Henrik leaning down next to me and a whisper voice. "Do you have a leaf to give to someone?" Asking kindly, I nodded no, she sighed and handed me a leaf she made. "Well, can you write something nice on this and give it to (y/n)?"

"Who's (y/n)?" Mrs. H smiled and pointed somewhere, I followed her finger and it directed towards the girl who was sitting by herself with her face in her book. "Oh, I guess." I shrugged my shoulders and took the leaf from her hands.

With my pencil in hand and I thought about what I can write, but that was hard to do, cause I can easily hear every girl saying that I'm gonna give my leaf to them. So, I just settled with a simple, it's cool that you read books.

Honestly, I'm not sure if she would like this and would consider talking to me, so I erased it and thought over something new. Maybe I like your hair, or what books do you like to read? I'm allowed to have a freebie with this one, cause originally you're supposed to have complimented on your leaf, but since I don't know "(y/n)" that well, it's tough. I wrote down do you need a friend?, I shrugged and got up from my seat, all the girls looked at me to see if I was gonna give my leaf to them. I walked up close to her desk, ready to place my leaf on her table and leave, but she looked up from her book looking confused. I couldn't help but see what color her eyes were, (e/c)... I knew it.

"Is this for me?" Her shy voice was cute too, later then, pointed the leaf that was on the corner.

"Yeah, why do you want it or not?"

"Just leave it. Thank you though." Smiling, not one of those huge smiles where some of her teeth were missing, but a cute one.

"You're welcome." I had this weird feeling in my stomach like there were butterflies there, I walked back to my seat and sat down. My heart was beating faster and then finally slowed down when I got away from (y/n), then Mrs. Henrik came out from behind her desk to mine.

"Thank you Jorel." Patting on the top of my head, then leaving me with a group of girls to give them answers.

"Uhh," someone cleared their throat. "Uhh, here." It was (y/n), again my heart was beating fast like before, in her hand, there was a piece of notebook paper that shaped into a leaf.

"Oh, thanks." (Y/n) nodded then went back to her seat to start getting ready to go home. I looked at it, she must've just now drawn it and hurriedly cut it out, plus there's writing on it.

Yes. Will you be my friend?

I'm so sorry. I don't have any time to finish up the Halloween/Fall theme one-shots so I just.. deleted them.. but I'll do Christmas/Winter ones soon.
