You rush out of the house with George and into his car with him on the driver side. He quickly started the engine and sped down the street, leaving tire marks on the street. You seen the way his hands gripped the steering wheel.
"What's going on?" You asked him, he looked at you, his eyes brimming with tears.
"I went to Ava's school to pick her up and.. she wasn't there."
"Oh my gosh." You whispered, lost for words.
"Her teachers said she was there." He managed to choke out. "I went to her friend's house, the house, the park. Everywhere! I even reported to the police!" He sniffed, fear made your heart heavy. Oh, how you wish Ava is ok!
"How long had she been gone?" You asked, he looked at his watch and calculated the time.
"Two hours now."
"Ok, let's check back at the house, she might be there." You said softly, he nodded. He only went because he doesn't know what to do, with (y/n) being there, he felt better.
They pulled up to George's driveway, you instantly jumped out and went through the front door. You thought he left it unlock just in case Ava came back.
"Ava!" You yelled, nothing. "Ava!" Again, the same silence. George came in, you looked at him and shook your head, he covered his face with his hands. Tears coming down. You gave him a hug, at the same time he hugged you back. You could feel the desperation by the way he was holding you, you rubbed his back as he cried. "Don't worry, we'll find her." He nodded and pulled away. You gave him a reassuring smile.
George's phone rang. He answered it, relief washed over him, repeatedly saying "thank you". Once he hanged up, you looked at him.
"She's at the police station on near Downtown." He said, the both of you went to the car and sped off to the station.
"Downtown? That's far, how did she get over there?" You thought out loud, once you said that, you hoped that George isn't upset. You looked over to him, his eyes stayed focused on the road and trying to get there as fast as he could. (Without getting pulled over of course.)
"Let's just there ok?" He spoke calmly, you nodded. Every time he pressed the gas, it pushed you back to the seat. Every turn he made nearly threw you to the side. You passed George a worried look, anything could've happened, even the worst case scenario. You reached out and placed your hand on his shoulder. Reminding him that he's not doing this alone.
He finally took a deep breath and most of his muscles relaxed at your touch. He placed his hand over your own, giving it a squeeze.
Once the both you made it to the station, literally the two of you jumped out of the car and rushed inside. There were people walking in handcuffs, others sitting on the bench. It was such a frenzy being there, the two of you went to the front desk.
"I'm here for my daughter, I got a phone call saying she's here." George's voice sounded like he was yelling. The officer flipped through the files, searching for the police report.
"Dad?" Instantly turning to the voice, he seen Ava sitting by a desk. You both ran to her as she ran to the both of you. You were caught off guard when she hugged you, but you didn't mind. You're just happy that's she safe and away from harm. George held onto her tight and cried, Ava began crying, not knowing what she put the two people she loves through.
