Chapter 23

Everyone sat. Speechless, confused, and angry. Cynthia looked at Beth in rage, what she was saying was complete bullshit. Beth pregnant? It can't be possible. Cynthia could give a shit on how she is going to act, right now she is not going to be lady like.

"To Hell with that! You can't possibly be pregnant!" Cynthia yelled, making Beth look at her. Tears strolled down Beth's face looking pitiful and sad. There was no sympathy from Cynthia,she believed it was just all a complete lie and she's just acting it out.

"No I speak the truth." Beth said softly. Her eyes transferred to Damien who was frozen with anger. He didn't know what to do or to say. Nobody saw this coming.

"You only speak lies! There's not even a bump on your belly to show proof!" Cynthia screeched. She was on the verge to punch the shit out of this girl. Luna stood, her smile completely vanished into pain and disbelief.

"Beth...if this is the truth you speak of then why tell us at this particular moment?" Luna asked her voice filled with disappointment. Beth nervously looked at everyone, trying her best to look innocent.

"I was afraid. Afraid that if I had told anyone I held a child then you all would deny me and wouldn't care to know. Before you were going to announce the queen I felt like it was the right time." Beth said. Cynthia clenched her fist, fighting back the urge to kill Beth. Beth purposely knew Cynthia was going to become queen and she knew that throwing a baby in the picture would automatically mean Cynthia had no possible way of staying.

"I don't believe that and as do the rest of us! And if you thin.."

"Enough Cynthia." Luna snapped but there was no anger behind her voice, it was agony.

"I will determine the truth with my ability. If what you say is true then you will stay and the others must go.

Cynthia's facial expression dropped. The thought of her leaving made her stomach twist and turn. Beth looked almost smudged, the thought of the others leaving satisfied her.

"However if it is a lie your tongue speaks you will be executed,For in Haven we take lies as an offense. Speak now if it is a lie and I shall spare your life and give you my forgiveness." Luna said her eyes hard and emotionless, making Beth's face fall in fear.

Everyone waited for her confession, giving her full access to tell the truth and not be punished. Instead she nodded that, what she was saying was the truth.

"Get to my room and into your nightgown now.I will be with you in a moment." Luna ordered, instantly making Beth follow.Once she was out of the room Damien stood to protest.

"Mother you can't possible believe her..."

"Did you have sex with her." Alistair interrupted flatly.

Damien looked away,angry and ashamed.

"Yes." He said. The words were so cold it felt like a dagger piercing through Cynthia's ears. Cynthia held back the tears of the memory of the girls sleeping with Damien, but she wasn't too sad about it ,she was more focused on the situation.

"Then there is a possibility. Although it may come across as unbelievable there could be a slim chance she is with-child. Now I am highly disappointed to hear such thing but we must go by the rules." Luna said. Looking at everyone, especially Cynthia with sadness, she left to go to Beth's room while Alistair followed behind. Cynthia walked off to the hallway, a mix of emotions jumbled inside her. Damien followed behind and gently grabbed her arm. Holding back the tears was not an easy task for Cynthia because as soon as she looked at him she cried uncontrollably. Damien's arms wrapped around her tight, comforting her and hoped that this was all a lie.

Aaliyah, being the quietest out of everyone, knew her sister all to well. She knew Beth was lying considering she has witnessed it herself from past experience . It just had to be. Now she would confront to everyone that her sister was lying but the only reason why she didn't say anything was because she needed the proof to invalid her answer. So that is exactly what she will look for. Aaliyah was extremely smart and knew where to begin her search. Before she even got down to business she grabbed her ink pen and a piece paper that she would always keep in her sleeve.To keep track of her records this was a habit she would always do. Going back to her room was the first clue. Aaliyah dug through her papers to find anything that her sister might be interested to look at. Then the thought of her journal came to mind since the majority of people who like to be nosy would want to read other peoples diaries,so she looked in there. Nothing but ripped up pages was all she could find. Before she gave up on looking in her journal anymore she noticed her booklet was on her drawer.Bingo. Aaliyah knew for sure that the booklet would always be in her journal just in case she missed out on an important rule. Flipping the pages she automatically guessed that Beth looked in the book to find a rule that kingdom must follow. Her eyes caught on the tittle "Rules of the Kingdom" and on rule number 23 it said:

" If unmarried

to royalty and is with-child to anyone royal the kingdom must give open arms and will be called for marriage immediately."

Aaliyah wrote all this down and continued her next search, Beth's room. Luckily Beth was in the queens room so that it made it easier for Aaliyah to sneak in. The room was nearly destroyed with the walls scratched, chairs broken in two, and even some dresses were torn as well. Aaliyah pushed aside the fact her sisters room was a mess, she needed to find more clues before she ran out of time. Quickly searching for anything there was nothing to be found. However Beth's bathroom door was slightly opened with a bright hazel light. Curiously Aaliyah motioned her way in.

Cynthia and Damien both waited outside of the King and Queens door. Anticipated Cynthia tightly held Damien's hand, hoping that whatever Luna was doing she would come back and say it was all a lie and that Beth was going to die. In Luna's room she looked over Beth that had her knees on the floor. Luna pressed her hand on her forehead, her eyes rolling to the back of her head using her magic. The process was starting.At first she was calm but then she winced a sudden pain. Alistair was alert, making sure his woman was ok. Luna's body quivered and shook rapidly until she finally yanked her hand away. Out of breath and shocked.

Going towards the light Aaliyah went inside the bathroom. The light was coming from an odd shaped bottle that was on the counter. Carefully, Aaliyah lifted the bottle and read the label. Her eyes shot wide for she got her answer about everything. Her hand rapidly wrote on the piece of paper and evaluated the results.

Luna finally walked out of the room. Cynthia and Damien both looked at her hopeful. But Luna returned it back with a plain expression. Beth and Alistair came walking in next, still having no emotion what so ever.

"So?" Damien asked irritatedly, he couldn't wait much longer for the answer.

Luna looked at Cynthia for a moment then to Damien.

"Please hand me the necklace Damien." Luna said with hurt. Instantly Damien figured it out...Beth was very much so pregnant.

Damien's heart fell. His mind blank and felt surreal. No. This isn't possible. Damien growled at Beth and didn't reach inside his pocket.

"No!" He roared. His body boiled in anger. Cynthia was a little confused on why he was angry over a necklace. Luna didn't have much patients to ask twice so she telepathically got the necklace from his pocket and into her hand.

"Mother No!! She can't. I refuse for her to be queen!" Damien snapped, his ice eyes fueled with hate and for a brief moment they actually looked red.

Cynthia figured it out, making her break down into tears.

Running as fast as she could,Aaliyah held the truth in her hands. It all made sense from everything she has uncovered. The bottle that was in her room...was a protection spell for magic giving Beth the chance to lie and be queen.
