Agatha dragged them to the Westview Mall for corndogs to pig on with his money, claiming the third witch was there. More likely, she was trying to scam him out of his money.
"Do you see her? Do you know what she looks like?" Charlie asked impatiently, trying to get anything from Agatha, something as easy as getting answers from a brick wall.
"She's a blood witch," Agatha didn't even bother to swallow her food, and Charlie winced, looking away.
"And a blood witch is...?" Charlie trailed off, glancing at a pair of giggling teenage girls nearby.
"Child of a witch," Agatha explained. "In this case, her mum was a witch, and also a famous goddess of rock."
Charlie frowned for a second before his eyes widened in realization. The Ballad... famous witch goddess of rock. "Lorna Wu? As in Lorna Wu and the Coral Shore?"
"Take it easy," Agatha sighed as she took a slurp of her drink.
"She wrote the most famous version of the Ballad! My friends Sahar, Darcy, Elle, and Tara went to see her last tour right before she died. RIP. Imogen cried for a week," Charlie shook his head at the memory. "My sister Tori won a signed LP of the Ballad and hung it on her wall."
Agatha scoffed as she finished her corndog, looking around. Charlie shivered, getting the odd feeling he was being watched, but the only other people he could see were the two girls, who were taking selfies. Still, Charlie couldn't shake the feeling. Agatha got up suddenly. "Let's go," she said, leaving her trash behind on the table. Charlie sighed, grabbing the rubbish and throwing it out on his way past.
Someone was still watching him.
Agatha lead him to a goth store, rummaging through aisles. "You think we're going to find Lorna Wu's daughter at the Westview Mall?" Charlie raised an eyebrow. "She's a rich kid - I feel like she'll be somewhere cooler like Brooklyn or a yacht."
"Rumor has it Lorna Wu was lost to the Witches' Road," Agatha told him.
"What?!" Charlie exclaimed.
"I know, ironic," Agatha said.
"More like iconic," Charlie shrugged, looking at the accessories on display around the store for anything that his friends might like. "I know you have a whole vibe - I've seen the photos - but what exactly are we doing in here?"
"Run," Agatha didn't answer his question, and Charlie pulled his eyes away from the products to look at her. "Run," she repeated, urging him towards the door. She really wasn't going to tell him anything else? Fine.
Charlie ran to the door, but a middle aged woman tackled him to the ground. The stores alarms went off as she wrenched his arm behind his back. Agatha bent down opposite the woman to speak to her. "Alice Wu-Gulliver? I'm Agatha Harkness, this is my familiar, Toto." Again with the Furry allegations? Seriously? "We need a protection witch to join us on the Witches' Road. What do ya say?"
"What?" the woman frowned.
"Gulliver!" someone yelled, and loud footsteps headed their way.
"Sir, this woman just assaulted my nephew!" Agatha exclaimed
"Did you just tackle a teenager?" the guard asked as Alice and Agatha pulled Charlie to his feet.
"Yeah, I saw them lift something," Alice argued.
"No, he didn't touch anything, check his pockets. He didn't do anything sir," Agatha exclaimed, and Alice began to search Charlie's pockets.
"Your old lieutenant convinced me to give you a shot, but you've been nothing but bad luck! You're fired," the man told Alice.
