"You don't have to do it, Nadia"my sister said with balled fist

"I have to, we can't keep secrets from them"I said

Why can't she understand, we have to tell them what happened to her back in London. They have to know who we are.

"I don't care, it will scare them"Katerina said

"Yes it might but they have to know who we are. The power that we have,the things we can do"

"No the things you can do,cause I can't do shit. I'm a vampire for god sake"

"They don't respect me they fear me"she said with tears"they respect you"

"Yes,yes it is open your eyes Nadia. Yes what you did to save those kids is respectful and you adopted Katherine and Carlos is also respectful but it puts them in danger for having our last name"

I know its dangerous but they need me and I will do anything to keep them safe

"Fine do what you want,but if they ever are in danger its your fault"she said

"Grandma!"Katherine said dropping her backpack and running towards me followed by Carlos

"Hey hun how was school?"I asked both of them

"It was okay"Carlos said

"Okay call everyone to the living room. We need to talk"

"What's wrong?"Katherine said

"Nothing, just call the other, will you?"

"Mhm"

I looked at my sister. She shook her head. I don't care they have to know so they could be more aware. Yes training them to protect themselves is okay but not good enough they need to be more cautious in public.

Especially since the cabal is looking for them.

Five minutes later everyone was in the living room

We have come hear to help people with cabals and investigate them. "We have to add more days to training"Stephen said"were going over some new techniques for you to learn"

He's right we have to to do anything to keep them safe. I have to do anything. I knew giving my name to those pore kids would put them in danger. But i just couldn't, I couldn't let them live the rest of their lives alone. Yes they might be in danger but they would also be safer. My family isn't just powerful, were very wealthy, and feared. Yes people respect us but they do it out of fear.

We have many safe houses that these kids could use in a desperate matter.

Even if I was dead they would still respect my grandchildren.

"We'll do anything to keep you safe"Katerina said

All six kids looked at me they already know their in danger. Yes keeping them with me is very dangerous but safe at the same time.

I'm a very powerful witch. This house is filled with spells to notify me if an unwelcomed soul would come across

"Don't worry they will have to get through me and everyone else that works for me. To even touch you and I won't let that happen..ever" I said

I will kill them if possible...no one will ever hurt them. Even if I'm dead.

"Can I talk to you..please"I asked

"Sure hun, let's go talk out side"Katerina said

The condo had a full view of Seattle. The balcony had two black chairs with red cushions and a small black table.

"What do you want to talk about"she asked

"Everything"I said seriously

She looked at me with a shocked look but her eyes said as if she expected this

"Well..I thought you wouldn't ask so quickly"she said with a smirk

"Well I did" I said

She chuckled "You remind me when I was you're age. No wonder she named you after me"she said

"Yeah she said something like that..back at the lab" I said

"Okay might as well get it over with"she paused"when I was eighteen I found out my father wasn't really my father. Our old coven was very strict. If a married woman ever had an affair their child would be punished and the man killed. I know very inhumane. So after that our mother was kicked out but our family is continued to be very wealthy and feared."

"Why is you're family feared?"I asked not wanting to know the answer but had to

"Why is our family feared...because we are known how to get our revenge get to be unforgettable well that part is totally me but the rest of our family is feared beacuse we are very powerful and we know not to give people second chances"she said her accent thick"and in our world we just can't give them, simple as that hun"

"What you expected us to be part of the mafia, no but there are rumors. "Katerina said

"Katerina w-"

"Please call me....um aunt Kate"she interrupted "it has a nice ring to it, don't you think"

"Ugh yeah I guess"I said

"Okay so what were you going to say sweetie"she asked

"Umm how do you eat do you even eat at all?"

"Yes hun us vampire's do eat to keep our cravings down"

"Oh"

"okay let's go inside..its about to rain. Actually let's see it out here"

"See what the rain?"

She chuckled"Yes hun,the rain"

"My mother told me that the raindrops tell a story as they fall"she said smiling

Then it started to rain.

"Did you ever have kids?" I asked

She frowned "Yes hun, but I had lost the baby before it was born"

I immediately regretted to ask that question

"I'm so sorry"I said meaning it

"Its okay"

We sat there silently watching the rain fall as they tell there story
