All six of them burst through the lighthouse door into the howling chaos of the night. Despite the torrential rain that stung their eyes and the wind that threatened to knock them off their hooves, nothing could have prepared them for the sight that greeted them above the churning sea.

A monstrous form in an equine shape towered against the storm clouds, composed entirely of wind, lightning, and roiling darkness. Where a normal pony would have eyes, twin orbs of blazing fire burned with centuries of accumulated rage. His mane and tail flowed like liquid flame, crackling with electrical energy that split the night sky with each movement. This was no mere ghost—this was elemental fury given form and purpose.

"Redmane," Sea Salt whispered, his voice barely audible above the supernatural storm.

The old unicorn felt his throat constricting as the full reality of what his ancestors had been protecting Equestria from hit him like a physical blow. This creature of storm and spite was what Sterling Compass had betrayed his captain to stop, what generations of the Compass family had held at bay with their magical shield.

"What are we going to do now?" Ditzy asked, her voice strained as she tried to sound brave for Dinky's sake. But despite her efforts, the terror she felt at the sight of the approaching nightmare was unmistakable. Her mismatched eyes were wide with fear as she pulled her little sister closer with one wing.

Time Turner's analytical mind began racing through possibilities, calculations, and desperate strategies. "Twilight?" he called out urgently. "Can you fix the shield spell on that old lens in the basement before that thing reaches us and the town?"

The lavender unicorn shook her head almost instantly, rain plastering her mane to her face. "With how fast it's approaching? Not a chance. Even if I had hours to work, the lens is too badly damaged. The magical framework is completely shattered."

Time Turner muttered a curse under his breath, his usual composure cracking as he watched the spirit of Redmane drawing ever closer to the shore.

But then something sparked in Twilight's eyes—a flash of inspiration that cut through her desperation like lightning through the darkness. "Wait... I think I have an idea."

All eyes turned to her, hope flickering in their expressions despite the dire circumstances.

"Sea Salt, you still have that compass?" Twilight asked, her mind already working through the magical theory behind her desperate plan.

The old unicorn fumbled in his coat pocket with trembling hooves, finally producing the brass instrument that had opened the hidden chamber. "Right here, but I don't see how—"

"You said that Redmane highly valued this compass, right?" Twilight interrupted, her voice gaining strength as the plan crystallized in her mind. "That it was his most prized possession?"

"Aye," Sea Salt confirmed, his weathered face creased with confusion. "He claimed it was worth more to him than all his other treasures combined. Never let anypony else so much as touch it."

Twilight nodded firmly, rain streaming down her face. "Then we're going to seal Redmane inside it. The emotional connection he has to the compass will make it the perfect magical anchor."

The declaration hung in the air for a moment, met with stunned silence even as the storm raged around them. The idea seemed impossible—how could that monstrous spirit be contained within something so small and unassuming?

"You can actually do that?" Time Turner asked, his scientific skepticism warring with desperate hope.

"Yes, but I'll definitely need your help," Twilight replied, already mentally cataloging the spell components she would need. "The sealing enchantment requires precise understanding of the object's mechanical properties and magical resonance. Without knowing exactly how the compass works—its internal structure, the materials used, the craftsmanship techniques—it'll be impossible to create a stable magical container. Can I count on you?"
