Scott had honestly never cursed so much in his entire life.

He'd tried to find ways to make the time go by faster, but no matter what he did it just continued to crawl at a snail's pace. If Mitch hadn't begged him to wait for him at home then he would have been at the airport chewing his nails off as he waited.

He understood the reasons... Mitch didn't want to make a scene... he didn't want to lose hold of the magic that kept him looking human... he didn't want Sarah to get into trouble while Scott was gone...

It made sense, but still...

It was almost an entire day of waiting and he hated every second. He tried painting... he tried watching TV. He got the guest rooms ready, had groceries delivered...   He tried pulling out his laptop to keep busy but not even that could get his mind off of the clock. He just wanted Mitch there with him.  He just needed to feel him.. solid, tangible. Hearing his voice had helped ease the ache in his heart just a little, seeing his face had been even better. Still nothing could compare to holding him in his arms. His skin practically tingled at the thought.

He stared down at the golden symbol still sparkling on his forearm. It comforted him for a little while but then the impatience would kick right back in. He wanted to leave Sarah behind and go for a run, but she seemed to be feeding off of his energy and was just as antsy. They ran laps around his backyard which was plenty of room as he had acres of fenced in space, but even after he ran until his chest felt like it was on fire  and Sarah had given up and laid down to just watch as he passed, he still had hours to go.

Time hated him.  The feeling was mutual.

While catching his breath he spotted the water hose curled up by the back patio and smiled to himself as he had an idea.

Sarah was NOT amused at the sudden, and very unwanted bath and ran about trying to escape before giving up and attacking the stream of water, biting at it as she hopped around. Scott laughed until his stomach hurt and they ended up rolling around in the grass.

Later when he lounged in the hot tub the pudgey approached and draped herself along the edge, only then forgiving him for the earlier ambush.

He closed his eyes, trying to relax and dream about his love and all the things they would do when he finally had him back where he belonged.

Avi felt much better once the four of them were settled on a plane and in the air. He'd been so nervous about the trip but thanks to the fae, and an outrageous amount of magic, they managed to successfully navigate the airport with little issue.

The terminal was busy as expected. Of course the fae were curious again, but they mostly kept to the group and didn't wander too far. Oryn's eyes were continually drawn to the displays of the different shops and the smells of the different food kiosks and stands were more than tempting, but she managed to keep herself in check for the most part.

He'd tried to explain how the flight would work beforehand but even though she knew about it, she still held tight to Avi's hand during take off. He hadn't expected the air pressure to bother the fae like it did, and when they all reached up to cover their ears he nearly panicked. Thankfully Mitchell was clever and a bit of magic eased the pain and pressure that affected them and Oryn's head dropped to his shoulder in relief.

He kissed her forehead then, making sure she was okay, but that episode seemed to subdue her overabundance of energy and she stared out the window in quiet wonder. She imagined this was what being a dragon was like, seeing the world from up high.

It was a long flight, but they spent their time cuddled close, just talking and laughing.

His wounds still ached and pulled, but he didn't really mind. They reminded him of all the wonderful and scary things he'd experienced. They reminded him of everything they'd been through together.
