Ok...  First things first - I wasn't going to post anything... (I'm sure everyone knows what happened to Deanne by now. I have so many words to say but can't find any to express the disappointment. I am a 'glass half full' kinda girl, and I like to think that the world is really not all that bad... there ARE genuine, kind, respectful people... but one bad apple .. we know how that goes. )  But here I am posting... but only because #1 Deanne asked me to (and really do we have a choice when the Queen says jump? Nope. :) ) and #2 because ... it is what it is. There are going to be people who disappoint you in life.

Does that make it ok ??? Not even the TINIEST bit.

SO instead of going on a hiatus like the original plan was... I am posting...   and I'm also joining Deanne by putting up the same image she did.  I encourage other authors to do the same.  If we can't support one another then what's the point?

But I won't keep ya... *cough*    So ... for Deanne....

Scott was not a morning person. He needed at minimum 2 cups of coffee a day to even function and if you caught him pre-java … well… goodluck.  But this day was not like every other day. This day saw his eyes opening before his alarm even had a chance make a sound.  He groaned when he saw the time and pulled the pillow over his head, but after a few breaths he knew that the excitement/anxiety at seeing Mitch again would overpower his want to go right back into his dreamworld.

Mitch.

So many things told him to be worried, to be afraid of what might come out of his mouth, but he just couldn’t let himself believe that Mitch would leave him again. The boy threw himself off of a cliff the last time they were apart.  He wouldn’t separate them again… would he?

No. Positive thinking.

Mitch would find a way for them to be together and if he hadn’t already then he would eventually. They’d figure something out until then. They’d lost so much time already. He just knew in his heart that Mitch wouldn’t abandon him now.

With that decided he climbed out of bed, a very disgruntled pudgey growl-talking at him before burrowing beneath the comforter and curling up in the warm space he’d left behind.  He stretched and yawned, humming a bit to himself as he went about getting ready for the day.

He couldn’t help but smile to himself when the smell of bacon coaxed the pudgey out from the bedroom and she blinked up at him sleepily as she sat down at his feet. He couldn’t help but hope that one day he’d see Mitch shuffle out of their room, eyes full of sleep, body seeking warmth as he wrapped his arms around Scott.

“Bacon? Seriously?”

She just opened her mouth waiting for the yumminess to drop in.

“Do you even know what bacon is?”

She closed her mouth but only to put on her best ‘begging’ face, large blue eyes blinking up at him obvious intent.

He lifted a piece of bacon from the plate and looked down at her. “Alright, but if you get a tummy ache I don’t wanna hear your whining.”

He dropped it and the pudgey chewed noisily, propping her paws up on Scott’s leg and opening her mouth for more.

“Alright, alright I’ll make more you hungry little monster.”

Breakfast was a fun event. Sarah was quite the food thief and he learned quickly if you turned your back your eggs would disappear before you turned back around. She helped keep the mood light, but a small bit of fear still sat uncomfortably inside of him.
