Imagine: Being invited toa Mikaelson Ball and meeting Kol, who you subsequently fall in love with.

You'd heard about the famous Mikaelson balls, but you'd never had the pleasure of going to one until today. Befriend Rebekah and Klaus had its benefits, and this definitely had to be one of them. Once again making sure that there were no wrinkles in your dress you deemed yourself presentable enough for this extravagant ball. Flashing yourself a smile through the mirror you used your vampire speed to hurry to the Mikaelson mansion.

When you had first met Klaus and Rebekah the rest of their siblings had been staked and in their coffins. Now, the remaining Mikaelson siblings were out of their tomb and the party celebrating them was in full swing when you showed up at the front door.

"Y/N! I'm so glad that you could make it!" Rebekah greeted you with open arms, sweeping you down the hallway and into the main room where the ball was in full swing quickly. "Klaus will be glad to see you too, but first..." She trailed off, looping her arm into yours and skillfully weaving in between the crowd gathered in the main room. "I want you to meet my brothers Kol and Elijah." She finished, coming to halt in front of two men in suits. Both men were very dapper in their suits, the shorter of the two sending a smirk your way before taking your hand and pulling it up to his lips.

"It's a pleasure to meet you." He commented, glancing up at you before slowly dropping your hand. "Rebekah and Klaus speak very highly of you and your abilities." He added.

"It's not every day that one meets a vampire witch hybrid." Elijah interjected, smiling warmly at you.

"It's not every day that one meets the original vampire family." You countered, glancing over to your side when you felt a hand rest against your shoulder. Klaus stood directly behind you, smiling at you before turning his attention to his siblings.

"Hello, Y/N. I actually need to steal Elijah and Rebekah away for a moment. Kol can keep you company, however." He said, signaling for his siblings to follow him as he disappeared into the crowd.

"Care to dance?" Kol asked, quirking an eyebrow at you once you were left on your own together. Without hesitation you agreed, and he encased you in his arms, resting a hand against the small of your back while holding onto one of your hands, starting to lead you in the dance that everyone else seemed to know.

After a few dances your feet were officially sore. You hadn't worn high heels in a while, and the extended time wedged into the uncomfortable shoe wasn't doing anything to help your poor feet. Kol finally released you, leading you towards the grand staircase so you could take a seat on the marble steps and unstrap your heels.

"Better?" He asked, chuckling as you sighed and leaned back against the next step.

"Much." You replied with a sigh. "You're a very good dancer." He smiled in gratitude.

"You're not too bad yourself." He pointed out, watching the other party patrons mill about in the hallway below.

"Mr. Mikaelson, you sure know how to make a girl feel special." You teased with a laugh, earning a grin from Kol.

"Oh Miss Y/L/N, making you feel special is a high priority of mine at the moment." He replied, smirking at you. His comment made a blush rise to your cheeks, turning your already flushed face a darker shade of red. In an attempt to diffuse the sudden awkwardness you were feeling, you turned your attention to the crowd that had been enjoying the party. As you watched for a few moments you noticed a large portion of the party goers making towards the front door, the party dying down as the hour grew later than you had thought.

"Is that the time?" You exclaimed, checking the clock hanging against one of the walls. Kol frowned slightly and stood up as you flied to your feet. "I have to go." You apologized, turning towards Kol sheepishly, holding your heels in your hand instead of putting them back on, saving your feet the discomfort.

"I'll walk you to the door." He stated, offering you his arm and leading you back down the staircase and towards the door that was now propped open as people flowed out of it. Stepping out into the cool night air you breathed deeply, enjoying the light breeze. "Did you enjoy yourself?" Kol asked before releasing your hand.

"It was lovely. Thank you for dancing with me. Please tell Rebekah, Klaus and Elijah that I had to run, and that I'm sorry for not saying goodbye to them personally." You smiled, turning to face him.

"Of course." He smirked. "Goodnight, Y/N." He said softly, sweeping the hair that had fallen around your face behind your ears before cradling your face between his hands momentarily. As the moment passed he leaned forward and kissed you deeply, holding your face to his for what felt like an eternity before releasing you. Stunned you felt your face turn bright red once more.

"Goodnight, Kol." You murmured, equally as quietly. "I look forward to our next meeting." You added before speeding back to your house, thinking over the events of the ball and a certain Mikaelson brother.
