"Future"

"Did you see that one!" You pointed up at the stars, knowing that Kol wouldn't be able to know which one you were meaning, but the falling star was too beautiful not to share it with him. You felt how he squeezed your hand, the hand that was resting in his, a place where you would want it forever.
"Yes darling, I saw it. Close your eyes now, make a wish." You could hear the smile in his voice, and you knew he was just as happy as you were right now. One moment you closed your eyes. I want this moment to last forever. Then you opened them again, looking at the side, right into his eyes.
"Will we stay like this forever?" The smile you had heard in his voice before was still around his lips.
"Wouldn't that be lovely? Just us, your hand in my hand, a starry night and the birds in the trees?" You sighed.
"We'll have to go back, won't we?" He nodded, directing his gaze towards the stars again.
"We have to. Later. But we will come back here tomorrow night. And the night after that. And after that. Until those nights will be our forever." You sat up, watching if you saw someone coming, someone who would be looking for you, for Kol.
"Until we don't have to sneak out anymore?" Kol sat up as well, wrapping his arms around your body, and you leaned against him. He pressed a kiss in your hair.
"One day, we will be able to sit in front of our house, together, and watch the stars from there. But we'll still go out here, just to reminiscence, darling. Just to think back to days like these." You closed your eyes, feeling safe in his embrace. You loved feeling his arms around you, you loved feeling his breath in your hear. You loved listening to his voice, saying the things you so wanted to hear.
"And later we'll bring our children here, love. We will teach them the names of the stars; we'll watch them fall asleep in the grass; we will show them where their parents fell in love." You almost started to drift away, but you didn't want to fall asleep. You didn't want to lose this moment. The moment where time stood still, the moment where the world was so small that only you and Kol were in it.
"And what comes after that, Kol?" He pulled you a bit tighter to him.
"After that... when we are old, we will still come here. We won't care if we have to use canes to get here, we will never abandon this place. We will tell each other stories of everything it has seen, of our lives, of the lives of our children, our grand children. We have our whole lives ahead of us, darling. And we will live it to the fullest." Suddenly the moment was over. Suddenly you knew both of you had to go back, back to the world you tried to flee by coming here, but if you wouldn't go back, there wouldn't be any opportunities to come back to this place, to live the future he had promised you.
"We have to go..." He stood up, helping you up after that.
"I know, Y/N. But we'll come back here. This will be our place. Always and forever."
