CHAPTER 18

We're currently in the spacious living room of Ysheia's house, sitting on their large couch, while Gavin is seated on a single couch. I observed my companions, who were unusually quiet, as if the sky and earth had come crashing down on them, judging by the expressions on their faces.

"Here is the food na, guys." Ysheia said gently as she placed the cake and cookies on the table.

I looked at my companions again, but it was like they hadn't heard anything at all. Even Maverick and Mandy, who were usually the most eager when it came to food, didn't say a word or spare the food a glance. I could truly feel the heaviness each of them was carrying at kahit ako ay hindi ko sila magawang palakasin ang loob dahil we are all feel the same.

I took a deep breath and leaned back on the sofa, closing my eyes as I tried to process everything that was happening, searching for a way to fix this. We needed to find a solution to this problem because we only had one week to sort it out.

"We should go home and call it a day." wika ni Gavin.

"But we need to find a-" Flynn was cut off mid-sentence when Gavin suddenly interrupted.

"Let's talk about this tomorrow, for now, let just rest our brain." dugtong ni Gavin.

He suddenly stood up and faced Ysheia to thank her, and at the same time, he walked out without even looking at us. I heard my friends let out a collective sigh and then stood up from their seats as well. And after thanking Ysheia, they followed Gavin outside.

"Let's go, Axl." aya sa akin ni Mandy.

"Susunod ako." i answered.

"Sige, hintayin ka namin sa labas." wika niya at tumalikod na.

I turned to Jehanne, who was still seated beside me. She was already looking at me, and her face looked like she was about to cry.

"What's with your face." natatawa kong tanong.

"Anong gagawin natin, bestie." naiiyak niyang tanong.

"Just like what Gavin said, let just rest our brain muna and let's discuss this tomorrow." sagot ko sa kaniya.

"Ayaw kong matanggal tayo sa councils." malungkot niyang sabi.

"That's not going to happen because we'll find a way," I explained to her gently. "Besides, we still have one week, and it's only Saturday." dugtong ko sa sinabi ko.

"Right, we can do it." sabi niya na parang chinicheer up sarili niya.

"Di ka ba uuwi?" tanong ko.

"She's staying here muna with me kasi wala rin naman sila mommy here." sagot ni Ysheia.

"Okay, i'l go ahead dahil naghihintay na yun sila Mandy and also, thank you for your help Ysheia." paalam ko.

"Ingat ka, bestie." wika ni Jehanne at yinakap ako.

I froze for a moment when she suddenly hugged me, unsure whether I should hug her back or not. I was just about to lift my hand when she suddenly pulled away.

"Bestfriend na ba tayo ngayon?" she ask while wearing her signature smile.

"Tsk, bye na." sabi ko at nginitian siya.

Before I turned away, I caught a glimpse of her frowning. I just shook my head and walked out. When I got outside, I saw everyone else—except for our president.

"Where's Gavin?" hindi ko napigilang mag tanong.

"Nauna na, may pupuntahan pa raw siya eh." si Maverick na ang sumagot.
