Night starts pouring in, and so does the rain. I wake up Crystal because I don't think she wants to miss the tributes in the sky.
"Thanks." She says tiredly. I get up and pass a little crate of food. In there are little rolls of bread. I take three and give three to Crystal. They aren't warm and fresh, but we are in the hunger games after all.
The anthem booms in the arena, and we sit closer to the mouth of the cornucopia, avoiding the rain. The first tribute to appear through the rainy sky is the boy from six. He was the one that Crystal killed to save me. She doesn't show any emotion, he is just somebody that we used to know now. The sky looks normal again, and the music stops.
"Final eight." She says quietly without looking at me.
I nod, still looking at the empty sky. The final eight. The Capitol will send reporters to each of the remaining tribute's family and friends. My brother will be on national television within hours. He will for sure be the attention for both Elliot's and my report. I wonder if my family is watching now.
We both don't say anything, but she falls back asleep. I lay back and watch the dark sky. The rain starts to clear up, maybe the gamemakers need more action. I close my eyes, not to sleep, just to relax...

"Where are we going?"
"You will see" Elliot says with a smile. I follow him to the docks, and onto a small boat.
"I don't think we should..." I start saying.
"It's fine, no one will know! I mean, we do get away with our spot on the beach." He says, pulling my wrist. He pulls me in, and shuts the door. "Watch this!" He pulls the lever and the boat starts moving. Now we are in the middle of no where, the water surrounds us.
"Wow...look at the water...and the sunset...and..." I kiss him, and he wraps his arms around my waist. "and you."
"I love you. I can't wait for...Kaya! Watch out!" He yells. I turn around and see a twenty foot wave rise above us. I squeeze his hand, and he does the same to mine. "Under the wave!" He shouts.
We both dive off the boat and under the wave. I push myself up from the water, but I don't surface. I force my eyes to open in the salt water, and I find Elliot no where in sight. I finally reach sea level and let air flow through my lungs. No one and no boat is here anymore. I am stranded. I am alone.
~
I wake with sweat covering my forehead. Taking deep breaths, I remind myself that it was just a dream, a terrible one.
Looking over to Crystal, she still lies on the ground sleeping. The final eight, she said last night. Me, her, Elliot, Toby, Brandi... and three other tributes. That means my group's alliance is coming to an end soon, I can only picture Toby killing us while we sleep. I shiver at the thought.
Leaving Crystal here, sleeping and unprotected would be wrong, but I have no other option. I quietly grab my bag and spears and run into the sunlight. Once I slip into the forest, I am faced with a huge problem that I didn't think through before.
