HEART AT WAR [PART 2 OF A&B] [CSM]

I can't believe.. oh, man!

I can't believe that for the longest time, all I saw was what I could lose.

My hands grip onto my hair, tightening the hair tie wrapped around my pony tail. As I open the door, I take a deep breath as the sun's rays meet my tan skin.

I'm gonna see Fuyuto today..!

I leap off the top step, my feet smacking against the concrete.

For once..

Falling pebbles prickle against the ground beside me as I skip on the pavement. My arms flail forward and back, picking up speed in my legs. I throw my head back, squeezing my eyes shut as I give into the wind I create.

Oh, for once..

I hear a muffled crash beside me, a prolonged car horn creeping past my earbuds and into my head.

I'm not going to lose this time.

My fists clench as I leap into the air with each skip, punching into the wind. A rock makes contact with my hand, crunching my fingers inward.

For once..

The blood from my fingers splatter against my face as my eyes begin to open, a shadow cast above me.

For once, I know I won't lose everything.

I slow down, my smile blackened by the falling rubble's shadow. The sun is blocked from my face as my hands begin to lower.

And, for once..

The rubble shoves my head down, denting my skull inward as my eyes squeeze out of their sockets. Pieces of my brain squeeze out and roll off of my flowing hair. I'm forced to bite down on my jaw, my teeth cracking beneath the pressure.

For once, I want to live knowing I won't lose you.





You lean your head back, your smile still plastered across your face.

Ten seconds.

On top of the world, nothing will ground you.

Mandy clasps her hand onto your arm, pulling you down with her. You gasp as you spin with her.

"AHH!" You call out, pushing against the rotation to stabilize the both of you.

Blinking repeatedly, you realize something unfortunate.

You're about to hit the ground.

"EEEEK!" Your legs grasp onto Mandy as you straighten your arms out, flapping them as fast as you can. Mandy squeals, looking down as her arms tighten around your waist.

The sheer force of your flapping arms beat against gravity, halting your fall. The old woman pants, gulping as she looks up at you.

"Sweetie! W-We're floating!"

You look down, continuing to flap your arms.

"H-Huh? W-We're floating?"

"Y-Yes! We are.. oh, my.."

You both look down, the sounds of screams and splats echoing high enough into the air for you to hear.

Oh.

There were other people..

You, somehow, begin to slowly lower yourself and Mandy.

Feet plant onto the ground, arm wrapped under the old woman to support her posture. She sighs, holding onto her chest. "My, my.. what an eventful day!" Mandy says, smiling as she starts to walk forward. "Our church.. well.."
