Ezra sat on the edge of the building, looking up at all the spacecrafts flying through the air above him. They were all older models, some Ezra hadn't ever known existed. Everything seemed so bright, so full of hope; people here on this crowded planet were happy. It was hard to believe that such peace had ever been. Honestly it wasn't all that long ago to Ezra that things had been like this, though he didn't remember them. Sure the Clone Wars weren't fun times, yet it had better than having the galaxy ruled by the Empire, also there were thousands of Jedi Knights protecting the galaxy. As much as Ezra loved to see the galaxy before it was ruined by the Empire, it hurt him. To see what was and what could be for everyone, it was frustrating to him. Staring dully at the river stone in his hand, Ezra wondered if there would even be a galaxy left worth saving when all this was over. Behind him, Ezra could hear Obi-Wan pacing back and forth with growing impatience.

"I'm going to get expelled again." He muttered to himself. "Why did I ever agree to help him?"

Ezra was wondering the same thing. Much as he was grateful for the young Jedi's help, he couldn't keep himself from wondering as to why Obi-Wan had believed his crazy story. Ezra smiled faintly, it seemed there were always questions for every action, no matter where or when you were. With a deep sigh Obi-Wan sat down next to Ezra, a frown creasing his brow.

"Why are you helping me?" Ezra asked curiously. "Not that I don't appreciate it." He added hastily.

"I just felt like I had too." Obi-wan replied as he fiddled with the sleeve of his tunic "My Master says that I should trust my instincts. He is always doing bizarre things to help others, even when it can potentially interfere with a mission. However, it turns out alright in the end."

"Helping people is a bizarre thing?" Ezra asked, one eyebrow raised and a smirk playing across his mouth. Obi-Wan grinned at him.

"No, you are bizarre" He chuckled quietly before becoming serious again. Both teenagers grew silent, each thinking their own thoughts as they gazed out across the ever moving stream of spacecrafts. The dulled and freshly polished colors reflecting light sunlight as they hummed their respective decimals. It was almost soothing to watch and listen to.

"Our ride should be here soon." Obi-Wan said, breaking the silence. Ezra frowned slightly at the remark

"Wh-what ride?" He asked, confused.

"That one!" Obi-Wan exclaimed in a relieved tone as a sleek starship came level with the rooftop. A brown haired boy, around the same age as Ezra sat in the cockpit, waving at the two. The boy turned the spacecraft around in order for them to board via the already lowered ramp in the back. Obi-Wan hopped aboard first, then Ezra. They went to the bow of the ship, the 'Red Rex' according to the name Ezra has seen on the side. The brown haired boy smiled widely as Obi-Wan sat down in the co-pilot's seat, Ezra took a seat behind him. His smile faltered when he saw Ezra.

"I thought you said you and a fellow padawan needed a ride." The boy said, glancing at Obi-Wan.

"Um, well, yes. About that Garen." Obi-Wan began.

"Obi-Wan Kenobi!" Garen exclaimed. "You lied to me?"

"No!" Obi-Wan replied indignantly. "I just didn't explain everything thoroughly."

Garen frowned darkly at his friend. Never in the few years had they known each other had Obi-Wan lied or tricked him into doing something.

"Explain, then. Now." Garen demanded coolly.

"Alright. Calm down." Obi-Wan said, heaving a sigh.

"His name is Ezra," Obi-Wan began. Ezra gave Garen an awkward wave. "He's from the future. He went to the future from his time, had some complications and now he's in the past. I have to help him get back to his own time. We could use your help too."

Garen gaze flickered between his friend and Ezra, his mouth hanging slightly agape. What came out of Obi-Wan's mouth was utter bantha poodoo. No way in the far reaches of the galaxy could it either be true or a joke; Obi-Wan didn't have much in the way of humor.

"You don't honestly expect me to believe this?" Garen asked incredulously. Obi-Wan looked a little offended by the question.

"Of course I do!" Obi-Wan replied.

"You do know it sounds utterly barvy?" Garen scoffed.

"Maybe so, but I swear it isn't!" Obi-Wan argued.

"Why should I believe you?" Garen asked. "You lied to me."

"I did not! He really is a padawan. Just not from this time period." Obi-Wan snapped back. Perhaps it did sound crazy, it was all true though. Garen should know better than to think Obi-Wan would flat out lie to him. Granted he hadn't made Garen aware of his and Ezra's situation beforehand, however he didn't deserve such harsh treatment. Garen scratched his head wondering if he shouldn't get Obi-Wan psychiatric help.

"Can you prove it?" Garen asked, letting out a sigh. Obi-Wan's face turned a little red, he didn't exactly have a way to prove to his friend Ezra truly was from the future. In the seat behind him, Ezra frowned. He didn't like he was causing issues between people whenever he went. There had to be a way to prove what he said was true.

"I don't have a way to prove it." Ezra said honestly. Garen turned around in his seat to face him. He could sense Ezra was being sincere and that he was a little sad, the reason Garen didn't know. Garen bit his bottom lip. Obi-Wan wouldn't lie to him or anyone and maybe time traveling wasn't all too farfetched. Then again there could be something seriously wrong with Obi-Wan. He was about to speak up when the comlink on his wrist blinked. Garen pressed a button on it, his Master's voice crackling loudly in the silence.

"Garen Muln. Where are you?" She asked, her voice crisp.

"Just a click away from the Temple, Master." Garen replied. He expected her to be upset with him for having left without letting her know first.

"Is padawan Kenobi with you?" Master Rhara questioned.

"Yes, Master. He is." Garen answered, frowning questioningly at Obi-Wan.

"Is the boy wearing the orange jumpsuit with you too?" Master Rhara's voice sounded slightly strained as if irritated.

"Yes, Master." Garen replied slowly, not understanding.

"Please escort them back to the Temple immediately." Master Rhara ordered before signing off.

"What did you do?" Garen asked Ezra and Obi-Wan.

"Garen, you can't take us back to the Temple." Ezra said, almost pleadingly. Garen shook his head stubbornly.

"I can't disobey my Master's orders either." He replied as he piloted through the air lanes. Ezra wanted to scream as he watched the Temple get closer and closer. He didn't have time for this.

Time.

It's always running out.
