– MONICA’S APARTMENT, MORNING
Everyone’s gathered around the kitchen. Monica is pouring boiling jars of jam. Phoebe is talking about her brother Frank.
"He licked a light socket once for fun. I think we’re related." Phoebe said
(to Monica)
"So you're curing heartbreak... with fruit?" Chandler said
"Jam is comforting. It’s like therapy, but spreadable." She told him
(to Jake, smirking)
"If I ever turn into her, you have permission to run." Ronnie said
"No chance. Even if you turn into a blueberry." He told her

– MONICA’S APARTMENT, LATER
Monica drags the girls to a kitchen supply store. Joey goes to pick up pizza. Chandler is “trying on” someone else's cologne at Macy’s. That leaves: Ronnie and Jake. Alone.
"So… we’re officially unsupervised?" He said to her
(grinning)
"Dangerous sentence." She told him
They're sitting on the couch. The TV is off. The lights are low. Their legs are touching. Jake leans in slightly. She doesn't pull away.
" You’re staring."she told him
"You’re making it hard not to." He said to her
And just like that — they kiss. It starts soft. Slow. But heat builds fast. It turns into a full-on, messy, no-room-for-breathing, teenage make out session on the couch. Jake’s hand finds her hip. She pulls him closer. They’re lost in it.

– THE GANG WALKS IN
Monica opens the door, followed by Rachel and Phoebe, mid-conversation — and they freeze.
"Ohhh boy." Phoebe said
'Oh my God!" Rachel said
"MY COUCH!!" Monica screams
Ronnie and Jake break apart like they were struck by lightning. Ronnie scrambles for the blanket. Jake falls off the couch entirely.
"Oh my god—don’t you people knock?!" Ronnie asked
"This is Monica's apartment!" Phoebe said
(groaning from the floor)
"I think I broke my dignity." Jake said
"You broke my brain. I need bleach. For my eyes." Rachel said as she got out of the apartment

– LATER THAT EVENING
Ronnie is curled up under a blanket. Jake sits next to her, still red. The gang is cautiously quiet.
(arriving late)
"Hey! Who made out on the couch?" Joey asked
Everyone points at Ronnie and Jake.
"Nice. I knew you two were gonna explode eventually." He said
"Yeah, well, next time let’s not explode on Monica's furniture." Chandler said
"I’m mortified." Ronnie said
"I’m icing my ego." Jake told them
"I’m writing a folk song about it." Phoebe said
