Chapter 14

It had been 3 days since Clays had adopted Kyle. Everybody was staying down here until we had to go back up to memphis, the Marines would ship out from there and then after the fight Max would come back down here, i agreed to let him stay here since it was where he had been living for a long while, i wouldn't really be in desperate need of it until i was out of college anyways. I was standing my toes buried in the sand watching the sunset when Axel came up to wrap an arm around me. "Penny for your thoughts?" i leaned into him "Can i stay with you instead? I don't think jason will allow weapons, fighting, the black market, The Leprechaun, or anything else i do on a daily basis." he sat down pulling me into his lap "Sweetpea, you know i would love for you to stay with me, but i" "Travel a lot and cant take care of a child, then can i stay with someone else then?" i knew he had closed his eyes "Renny Blayze Adriance, You are so dear and near to each one of us that is here right now. Greg is too busy raising a kid all ready, you and blake are distant, and Maxwell lives down here." i climbed out of his lap getting really pissed off "So that means i have to deal with mr. strict up there, thats fucking bullshit, that is sooooo not happening!" I stormed off down the beach only to bump into something. I looked up to see rocky looking concerned, i hugged him and buried my head in his chest. he kissed my head and rubbed my back. "You dont have to tell me, but i am here to listen if you need me too." My tears were leaving a stain on his shirt and i started to feel bad so i pulled away red in the face "Hey boo bear i have an idea to cheer you up, how about some night time surfing" i thought about it for a moment "Is that even safe?" He laughed a little "Every full moon a group of surfers gets together and night surfs, ranger loved it! its under so much light, and there hasn't been a shark attack in this area in the history books so it is really safe." I nodded "Tonight?" he shook his head "The full moon surf fest is tomorrow, but its bright enough to go tonight if you would like?" i nodded and ran to grab my board "Uncle Max, I am going night surfing with rocky, i will catch ya later." he called after me "Wait, is that even, well i guess, alright go ahead" I giggled at him and ran off to meet up with Rocky and he started painting on my suit "This is how we keep track of each other, its waterproof glow in the dark paint, it doesnt show in the day time and we just use the same suit for our night surfs" I nodded and he painted all over my suit top to bottom, then he attached a few glow sticks and a light to my suit "The light is for you, there is a button on it to turn it on if need be." i grumbled "I know that we need all the safety precautions, but can i go surf now?" he chuckled and handed me my board "Go ahead" I cheered and ran out into the waves diving under first, i shivered but paddled out anyways. It took me a little bit but i got used to the dark and my eyes adjusted,then i started to figure out how to surf at night. I did a bit more complicated flip and landed back on the wave i looked around and saw rocky pop up from the water. I laughed and rode the wave into shore my teeth chattering. he paddled in and gave me a hug "shower time?" "together!?" he snickered "With the bathing suits on of course!" i relaxed and hit myself in the forehead "Oh, yeah, stupid me." he grabbed my board and started walking toward his house. He cranked on the water first to let it heat up and then helped me get out of my wetsuit, and i did the same for him. We got under the warm water and he moaned at the heavenliness "Geesh someone is happy about being warm" his eyes flew open "well i could help you be just as happy" he winked and i gagged slightly,but i knew that there was a blush creeping up on my cheeks. "Uh no, i am too young for that Mr." he leaned down and kissed my cheek "But i still like you and that is why i am waiting untill your older and" i cut him off "Listen Rocky, who knows what could happen in these next few years, i may not even be back, i dont want you to wait for something that could never happen" "Oh, but i have faith that it will becuase i see the look in your eyes, i will be patient my love" he whispered this in my ear and then pulled back. i sighed and got out grabbing a towel, my suit, and my board. "Seeya at the Surf Fest tomorrow, night rocky." I walked off back toward the house and climbed the outside stairs to my balcony. After drying off i changed in to PJ's and fell asleep to the crashing of the waves.

I woke up the next morning to something jumping on my bed, kyle to be exact. "Guess what, guess what, guess what!" i grumbled and turned over, my leg caught his ankle and i heard him crash to the floor "What?" "Everything is official, Michael got the call this morning and i get to" "morning? tell me its at least 11" "Yuppers, its 11:37" i groaned and covered my head back up "Good, goodnight and sweetdreams" he attempted to pull the covers off but he wasn't quite strong enough. i snickered "Kyle, its not gonna work so give up now and please remove your presence from my bat cave. "i guess someone doesn't want to go downtown today then" he sang out and i quickly tore out of bed and into my closet. "What are we going downtown for?" I was tripping over myself trying to get changed. "Well i know axel has some business down there of some sort, Max has an MMA fight, and then they are buying some concert tickets for the end of the month " "oooo, who?" "Metallica i think is their name" "METALLICA!" i shrieked and tore down the stairs stopping in front of the guys about to fall into the splits "WE ARE GOING TO SEE METALLICA !?" Axel chuckled "Yeah, late birthday present, and i thought i should do something nice for you before i put you into the hell of Jasons care" i giggled "Well that is very kind of you, although i am still not happy with you right now" he sighed "what can i do for you to forgive me?" i rolled my eyes "I think you can figure that out on your own." i ran upstairs to put my Metallica shirt on and in some miracle found my studded leather jacket at the same time.

"Axel may i come with you when you do your business deal?" i squeezed my shoulder a little harder than expected "Not this time sweetpea" I started to say something and he cut me off "Hey Max, how about you bring Ren to your fight" max tried to stare axel down but failed "Come on, just stay out of the" Harken cut him off "How about we take her shopping with us instead?" Max sighed "No, i think she will be fine with me, come on Ren" i grabbed on to his hand and we walked off down the street. When we were out of sight we turned into a back alley and started going through a maze of darkness. "So this arena was where all of us used to fight during our breaks down here. I fight here a lot now, its my home arena." I nodded and we entered through what i presumed to be the back door and headed into his locker room "It was shared by us when we used to all fight." I nodded and plopped down on to the sofa. Which was extremely comfortable "So do you have just one, or a couple fights tonight?" I looked over at me an eyebrow raised "How do you know about the multiple fight deal?" i looked at him bemused "You do realize how smart i am right? 150 IQ and i am already in high school classes." he shook his head "You get it from your mom, boy do we miss her." He kinda stared off into space for a moment before snapping herself out of it "I have 2 fights tonight, if i don't get injured that is." a guy came in "Yo burnout, we are ready for ya" Max turned to me "Do you want to come watch or?" i looked at him incredulously "Do you think i would turn down an offer to come watch a fight?" i chuckled and held on to my hand leading me down the hallway. When we got to the big doors he handed my off to another guy who held my hand for dear life. "I'm not going to run away and i can handle myself just fine." he looked down at me "Yes, but you are still a child in an adults playhouse" i rolled my eyes "Do i at least get to see the fight up close?" he looked over at max who nodded, the guy looked back down at me "Front row seats kiddo" i wanted to cheer but it was at that moment that the doors opened and the guy called for Burnout.

He had suffered some slight injuries in the fight, but thankfully nothing life threatening. We met up with everyone at a nice restaurant on our side of town. i had Chicken parmesan which ended up being the best meal i have ever had. I never really felt the joys of being rich, but with all the money put away for me, everything i got from dad, and by my own means i had 1.5 million dollars stored away. Axel wouldn't let me touch any of that money until i was 16 though, which really sucked. Then again it gave it 6 years to gain interest, i would most likely start my life out with a few million dollars. My life was planned out well enough that if i was smart i could live with no debt at any point in time.
