Chapter 26

Ren's POV

He had to go in, I took another swing. He's sorry, another hit. he missed me, i kicked it. Its all bullshit, i can't believe he just abandoned me for all that crap! A special unit in the marines! I have never heard of such a thing in my life! i sighed and layed on the floor. I had been beating up a punching bag for at least the last half an hour. I heard the door open and heard none other than asshole com into the house, my house. I stormed downstairs "LOOK, YOU LEFT ME FOR THE FREAKING MILITARY, JUST LIKE RANGER DID 4 FUCKING TIMES!" he was taken aback at my sudden outburst "You are never allowed near me, the market, the arena, or this house ever again. It's all mine now and you have no say in it." he looked at me sadness filling his eyes, and for the first time in my life i saw him cry. The tears were streaming down his cheeks but the look on his face was impassive. "Ren, you are the most special thing in the world to me and i love you like a daughter, heck you are my daughter. I know you're hurt, you have been hurt more times than i can fathom. you just have to please understand why i did this, and please forgive me!" He had stepped closer but had not breached my bubble yet which i was grateful for as i was still trying to get my bearings. "I just don't know if i can forgive someone again, i have done that in the past and it seems like everytime they turn around and ditch me. I am not going to risk anymore relationships like that. " he sat down at the table sighing to himself "Ren, i am sincerely sorry, you know that i would never do anything to intentionally hurt you. This is so important to me though." i sat down on the stairs looking at him. I didn't really know what to think or what to do. "Axel, i need some time to think and figure out what to do, i will see ya later"

I flipped as i pulled out of the tunnel and rode it the rest of the way into shore. I was excited for the Full Moon Surf Fest coming up a few days from now, i got to see the whole crew again. I checked my phone to find a missed call from Jake. "Hey Jake, how is everything going?" "REN! I have missed you so much, and everything is going well." I sat down in the sand smiling. "Glad to here and i miss you too. Everything is going, well alright down here." "What's going on?" i bit my lip my eyes closing momentarily "Well when i first got here kyle was here, then him and rocky got into a fight, i snapped my wrist, then i knocked myself out surfing, then reece came down, and now Axel came for a surprise visit. Oh not only that but i have a surfing competition at the end of my visit and i have barely had any practice. That and i have been restricted from training by Maxwell because i hurt my wrist." i took a breath and put my head on my arms which were resting on top of my knees. "Wow, you have had a crazy week, but i have some good news for you!" i rolled my eyes "Like anything could be good news right now." "Oh you will like this good news, turn around." I shook my head but complied, turning around i saw him standing on my porch.I scrambled up and ran toward him "JAKE!" i jumped into his arms and he spun me around. "Shit! Wait you can't be here, i already have 2 other guys here that have been crushing on me, when they find out" I started to go into a panic attack so jake put his hands on my shoulders and started to press on my pressure points. "Ren, deep breaths, calm down" the pain took my mind away from what i was freaking out about and made me have the ability to take some deep breathes. He pulled off and massaged where he was pressing to relieve the tension. I gave him a hug and nuzzled my face into his neck. "How did you know what to do?" he kissed my temple "I saw reece and your trainer do it to you a few times so i asked about it. Reece told me that is what max, then blake, then your other caretakers and Axel used to do to get you to calm down. He showed me which points to press and he let me practice a few times so i was prepared." Reece came barreling out the door "I sensed that you were having an attack are you okay?" he pulled me away from jake and crouched down to my level checking me over and then he realized i was okay. "Wait, did jake help you?" you could hear the pride in his voice as he asked. i grinned and nodded as jake intertwined our fingers. It was at that moment that i knew what i wanted, and that was this. This family, Reece, jake, school, the market, the arena, and axel, it was perfect. i squeezed his hand. "I need to go do something before i lose someone again." i barreled into the house "AXEL! AXEL!" "I'm over here angel, whats going on? are you okay?" i rushed over to him flinging my arms around his neck and hugging the life out of him. "Woah there Ren, what's up my angel?" "You have, and will forever be my daddy, Ranger is just ranger. You have been there for me through thick and thin the past 3 years. Handing down the arena and the market meant so much to me, you were taking care of me in the best way you knew how. The military is in my blood and i know that, there is no way i can escape it, heck i will probably go in myself. I know you really don't want me too, but it's my destiny." he smiled and me and sat down to cuddle "I knew that it would be that way from the start." I smiled at him and he kissed my head. "Hey, what do you think you are doing with my girlfriend?" jake came waltzing in and Axel raised an eyebrow at me "Girlfriend, since when are you in a relationship there angel?" i glared at jake clenching my jaw "I didnt know i was in one." Axel tried his best to hold in a snicker "Oh really now" "Yes, This one here has been trying to be my knight and shining armor for a long time now, i have just tried my absolute best not to be his princess." This time he of course had to laugh. "Ah i see, well do you think you wan't to go out with him?" Jake was standing a ways off letting us talk. i shrugged my shoulders. "Eh, i dont think so, not yet at least." He shook his head and leaned down to whisper in my ear "I have known this kid since he was a baby, no one could be more perfect for you." i rolled my eyes and groaned "No, no way in hell could he be perfect for me" I heard the door close and i assumed that jake had walked out, but nope reece had to walk in. Jake tenetivly walked over. "Hey ren, could i talk to you alone, like outside for a moment?" Axel gave me a push out of his lap and i glared at him but he just ignored me so i slumped and followed jake outside. "Alright, what's up? why did you call me your girlfriend?" he kicked his toe against the deck and looked down his hands behind his back. "Well, um i may have gotten a call from axel to come down here. so i decided well he is practically your dad so why not ask him for permission to date you, your only a few weeks away from being 12. He approved so i was planning to ask you but you kinda went into panic attack mode" he was still looking at the ground. "Penny for your thoughts?" he glanced up "I am, uhm, i'm afraid of regection" he mumbled the last part but i could still tell what he said. I couldnt believe that i was going to do this but i grabbed his shoulders and leaned in to kiss his cheek, then whispered in his ear "i wouldnt reject you, i will at least give you a chance." i could tell he was smiling as i pulled back. We looked into each others eyes for a few minutes before walking down the beach while talking about anything and everything under the sun.
