Chapter 23

My sincere apologies for not updating, college has been hectic, I made a promise I couldn't keep and I should not have done that. Here is an update for you guys though!

Ren's POV

"Please?" "NO!" "pleeeease" "no" "pretty please with a cherry on top" "Hell no" "Oh come on, thats so not fair, i won!" "You think i would stick to my word?" "You are honorable and you always stick to your word, do you want to ruin that?" i grumbled "Oh alright, when?" "Tonight, 7 pm, i will pick you up here." i rolled my eyes and nodded walking off. Jake had won a bet with me and decided to take me out on a date. He is extremly persistent and i can not get him off my back for the life of me. I mean he is a sweetheart, i can admit that much, but not anymore than that. Thankfully i was leaving tomorrow and reece was going to stay back to watch over the arena. "REN!" i looked into the training room to see a very pissed off Felix. "Yes?" he glared at me untill i looked at my watch "Oh shit!" i ran into my room stumbling over myself to get changed and ended up hopping into the room as i was trying to tie my shoe. "Laps, 6" I grumbled but took off around the track, i love running dont get me wrong, but it could get annoying. "After that i want 500 pushups and 500 situps!" i sighed of course he did. Felix used to be one of the best fighters, but he stopped once he reached 28, which is a late retiring age for this. He It's been 12 years since he has retired but he has hung around the arena anyways, Axel recruited him to train me since Eagle didnt really come around anymore. He was apparently one of the best, but toughest, trainers out there. I had to completely agree with that. once i got done with my laps and started doing my pushups he sat down in front of me "So i was thinking that right after your first fight we could enroll you in MMA training" "Isnt that what this bassically is?" i looked up to see him smirk "Yes and no, I want you to get as many marital arts under your belt as possible, and that includes starting karate right after your birthday." i groaned as i reached 200 and dropped for a break "do i have to?" "Switch to sit-ups, and yes you do" "How in the world will i have the time for all this?" he sighed "I need you to quit your job" i stopped mid sit up and glared at him "That's what is keeping" "No its not you have plenty of money and you have free housing, axel is paying for your martial arts" "Fine i will give my notice tonight, wait i have a date, and work, and oh i am leaving for florida tomorrow, maxwell will train me" he sighed "How long?" "2 weeks" he nodded and i finished my sit ups "Okay back" "To my pushups i know i know.

"Come on you said you would!" "I just trained, i have work, and i have to pack, *get over it*!" he sighed and brought flowers and chocolate from behind his back. I smiled and hugged him setting the flowers and chocolates down on the counter "Come on" I started walking and he followed me i entered in the back and i sat him down at the table. "Hey boss, i am putting my two weeks notice in, and apparently i have a date tonight. Oh and i am going on vacay to florida for the next two weeks" "Good, you have worked yourself to death, i will give you one last paycheck when you get back" i smiled at him and gave him a hug "I swear you are the best boss ever!" he chuckled "Why thank you. Just be careful for me okay" He looked at me a glint in his eye, he knew. I nodded and smiled sadly "I will i promise, now i have a date to attend with the dork." He gave me one last squeeze and then madie picked me up in a hug "I will quite miss you deary, make sure to come back and visit, keep me updated" I hugged her back and promised her just that. I got hugs and good wishes all around as i left with Jake. "Wow, they really like you there." I nodded and he intertwined our fingers. I glanced down at our hands and just shook it off. I guess i like him, i am not exactly sure yet. He pulled us into a small but really nice restaurant. "Hey jake, what can i do for you tonight?" I looked over at him, they know him? He sensed my confusion and just gave my hand a squeeze "I thought i might bring my date here tonight" the young women smiled down at him and nodded before leading us back to a private booth in the back. "How in the" "a really close friends of my brothers owns the restaurant, they love me here." I nodded and we ordered our drinks. I still wasn't used to the rich life, well i didn't really have a rich life. I had plenty of money to live the way i wanted, i just didn't really choose to. I had a steak for the first time in my life with some mashed potatoes and cheesy broccoli. I smiled at jake, "no one has really done something this nice for me before. " he smiled and finished his bite "then no one has seen how amazing you are" I snorted "no, im 11 you doofus, thats why" He blushed at my comment and i immediately felt bad. I put my hand over his "Sorry, i didnt mean too" "No no its okay. I have gotten quite used to your sarcasm actually" My phone buzzed and i saw it was reece so i answered "Hey, what's up?" "How is everything going?" i groaned "Reece i am on a date, in a safe place, i will be back by 10, i promise." "Alright alright have fun" I hung up and mumbled to myself about how ridiculously protective he was. "What did he want?" "Just being his overprotective self is all." He nodded "So you are leaving tomorrow?" i looked up at him from my amazing food "Just for a couple of weeks" he hung his head then snapped it up as if with an idea "Maybe i could co" i stopped him mid sentence "No, you can't florida is such a seperate world from memphis.I dont want them mixed right now" He nodded a sad smile on his face. I grabbed his hand and rubbed my thumb over his. We finished dinner and still had some time so we went down to the river for a little bit before heading back. Reece picked me up in a bear hug and twirled me around "You're safe and sound and back in my arms" i gave him a hug back before pushing off of his chest "Yeah yeah now i'm tired and i still need to pack!". He chuckled and jake bid his goodnights before walking back to his room. Reece set me down in my bed "I already packed for you, go to sleep okay?" I looked at the suitcase in the corner "Did you pack my bathing suit,wetsuit, favori" "I saw your list and i know what you would have packed, dont worry sweetheart i got your back." i sighed and crawled under the covers thinking about Florida. Soon enough i heard Reece snoring but i still couldnt get to sleep myself.
