The Cuts

Okay as you know this is the chapter to finish a story. I make a quick chapter explaining the thought process of the story and what I changed from teh intial draft. For me its just a way to show my process to the readers.

Im going to be honest with yall. I fumbled this story badly, and honestly I feel this was easily my worst story by far. It also didn't help when it took me a month to release chapters at points. Which I do need to get better at is mostly my fault by trying to write too many stories at once. Which I am trying to fix at the moment. Look forward to that.

The idea of this story came shortly after I started My Slayer Academia and helped me think how I was going to end the story. Evident by the ending of My Slayer Academia, now this is where the struggle began.

The early parts of Slayers in a Heroic World are pretty close to what I had drafted with small changes like Izuku having siblings. The plan was to always have this present Izuku as an whole different person than the one from the first story. That was always the plan.

Cuts:

The First major change I did was the relationship between Inko and Toshinori or more the sense of changing the interactions between them. Originally, in the early chapters you could see Toshinori was trying to convince Inko she was the past self. In the draft, Toshniori was going to be way more aggressive about convincing Inko to the point it came off creepy and ruin the relationship between Izuku and Toshinori. I decided to cut it out since it seemed out of character.

I also took out a scene where Inko talks to Toshinori and reveals that her grandma was the reincarnated Inko. Leaving a letter for her old lover. I just took it out because of time crunch and couldn't find a spot to fit it.

Now for some major cuts I made to the story. Originally, I planned to show the movies in the story just with a demon slayer twist which would show how Izuku got there support. I cut it due to it most likely making the story about 40 chapters long or making chapters be about 5000 words. So, I cut it.

The nex cuts were extreme in my opnion, where at least 4 arcs were cut or one long one. Originally, Shigaraki would have turned the League of Villains into demons and they would be his Uppermoons. And each Arc would be Izuku fighting the Uppermoons until eventually fighting Shigaraki. However, I cut it due to making the story too long. Wish I kept it.

Now the final major cut was in the final battle. The original plan to have the fight almost doubled to what it is now. As stated in the story seven blades were made for Izuku to use in the fight, the plan was to have a fight with each blade showing them off and their forms. In the canon one I showed I only did one. I wanted to but if the story went to 7000 with only technically two of the swords than it would probably have been easily 20,000 with all of them and I didn't want to do that to y'all.

Changes

Not many things were changed beside one major thing. And I assume all of noticed it off the bat. The ship was the major change of the story.

The original plan and was in the story for almost half of it. Than about halfway I just hated the direction was heading since originally Ochaco was going to get pregnant and she would travel with Izuku to fight the upper moons as support.

So I decided to make some bs up and have Mei put in as the replacement and honestly hated it.

Another change which was slightly smaller was the age of Izuku. Originally since Izuku would have dough Uppermoons, he would have 24 when he fought Shigaraki instead of the 17 in the current ending. The reason why I changed it is because it didn't see fitting for Shigaraki to wait that long for Izuku.

The next changes were between Momo and Izuku. In the story Izuku hated Momo due to what her family did but eventually let the hate go. In the concept, Izuku was never going to forgive her and their relationship would have worsened since she would have pulled some sketchy stuff to try and get with him. I cut it since I wanted Momo to get a redemption in a way.

Reflection

I think this could have been one of my better stories but I definetly dropped the ball with this story and that is no-one's fault but my own. Whether it was inconsistent writing or terrible upload times. I hope with time it gets more views but at the moment I truly did mess up.

If I were to make this story again, I would probably cut out the whole reincarnated aspect of the story and make it like with Izuku. Where its the souls of the past helping their present selfs. I think that would have been better but we'll never know.

Thank you again for the few that still read this story for giving it a chance and hope you have enjoyed the story.
