I woke up and realized I wasn't in my usual bed sleeping next to Jay. Then I recalled the day before and realized I was at Kyle's on his couch. I sat up and stretched before grabbing my phone from its charger beside me and checking the time; 9:32am. I looked around and realized I was alone in his apartment because it was early in the morning and he was at school. I saw that I had no new messages from Jay. Frowning, I got up and began folding the blankets I had used to cover up.

I heard the vibrating noise of my phone and looked down to see a text from Kyle.
-Morning Kayc', Sorry to leave you alone but I had to get to school :/ Feel free to help yourself to anything in the fridge!-

I smiled at his kindness.

-Thanks Ky! I will just clean up the place. It's a mess ;) See you after school!- I replied. I set my phone down on the coffee table and began picking up some dishes from the living room. You could tell that a teenage boy lived here. I brought the various cups and plates and bowls to the kitchen and began loading the dishwasher. After that I went into Kyle's bedroom and removed all the dishes. Then I cleaned the kitchen counters and floors, and vacuumed the living room and Kyle's room. I also dusted the furniture in the living room and his room before making his bed. I put the blankets I neatly folded on a shelf he had in the closet between his room and the bathroom and cleaned the bathroom. After all of this I made the table in the dining room neat because it was covered in mail and other papers.

After my cleaning adventure, I sat back on the couch pleased with what I had accomplished. I opened the windows in the living room and Kyle's bedroom, as well as the slider door in the living room to let some fresh air in. I listened to the gentle sound of the birds chirping mixed with the sounds of vehicles coming and going as well as other tenants in the building shuffling around.

My phone vibrating snapped me out of my daze. I looked down at the screen and saw that Jay was calling. I smiled and hurried to answer.

"Hello?"

"Hey Kayc', how are you doing?" His sweet voice ran through the speaker on my phone.

"I'm doing okay. How is everything?" I asked.

"Very chaotic at the moment. But things will get better soon. I took a break and came home to grab some more clothes. How is Kyle?"

"He is good. Do you need anything? I can come see you real quick. Kyle shouldn't be home for another 30 minutes." I offered. Even though it had only been one day, I did miss Jay.

"I would love to see you, but I have to head back down now. I can't stay up here for long. I'm sorry Kayce. But we will be back together soon, alright?"

I frowned when he declined my offer, but understood. "Okay. Well, be safe. I will see you soon."

"Yes you will. I love you." He said getting ready to end our short conversation.

"I love you too. Bye Jay." I said and ended the call. I sighed sadly and checked the new message I had from Kyle.

-You don't have to clean! My place is a wreck!-

-Too late :) see you soon!!- I replied smiling. I finished picking up a few things that Kyle had laying around and then to pass the time I decided to watch a movie. I flipped through the station available on Kyle's TV that allowed me to watch movies on my demand. I looked through the free movies and chose one.

I wanted to watch a comedy to try to take my mind off the dramatic events happening around me. I found a movie and pressed play. I covered myself back up with the blanket I had folded a few hours earlier and laid my head on the arm rest of the couch. I got up and went to Kyle's kitchen to make some popcorn. Once the microwave beeped, I took the bowl and resumed my spot on the couch.
