Chapter Twelve

Today was coronation day. Alix and Evelyn helped me into my dress and heels and helped me tie my hair into a bun. The bright lights of the vanity in the den offset the usual red hue outside the castle.

"Thank you for all your help girls." I said as I happily twirled around in the heavy dress and looked at myself in the mirror.

"You're welcome Miss Kayce. I can't wait for you to become queen." Evelyn said.

"Yeah chicka, it's a wedding and a coronation in one. It's a big day for you." She said and I smiled.

There was a knock on the door and Seth entered. "Ladies, the ceremony is about to begin. Oh Kayce, you look incredible. Jay is a lucky man." Seth said and I blushed.

"Thank you Seth. We are coming now." I said as we left the den and walked down the long hallway that was on the same floor as the den. The den I noticed was the only room on this top floor, but down the hallway was a large glass door that lead to a balcony where John and Jay stood. I walked down the hallway with everyone behind me. I pulled my gloves up securing them around my elbow as Jay took my hand and had me step in front of him so everyone below could see us. It was the usual crowd from the funeral and the foyer gatherings standing outside the castle in the courtyard.

"You look breath taking." Jay said to me, making me smile.

"You clean up well Mr. Harrison." I joked.

"Thank you all for gathering today." John began. "We are here to crown our new king and queen. Jay Harrison, has agreed to lead us in this world, and to do so in a humane way. A way without blood and injustice. He will do this world a great amount of good. Thank you. Now with this crown, I announce the new era. King Harrison." John announced as he placed a thick gold crown with pearls, black stones and diamonds similar to the ones on my beaded necklace on Jays head. I smiled as Jay thanked him. "And to rule beside our great new king, is his wife as of today. Today Kayce Lewis becomes Queen Kayce Harrison. Congratulations on your marriage. Thank you for leading us beside the king. We all have high hopes for the two of you." He said before placing a similar, but smaller crown on my head. Mine had a pointy tip and shimmered in the lights placed to offset the red hue of the Underworld.

"Thank you John" I said and he smiled.

"I would also like to give my wife a ring, to announce our marriage." Jay said which made me smile widely. He removed my thin silk glove on my left hand and gently placed a ring on my finger. It was made of black gold and the stone in the center was a ruby, but it was surrounded with the same diamonds as the crowns and beaded necklace, which I still wore today. I smiled and started to tear up as he pulled me in for a kiss.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I give you our king and queen." John said as the crowd uproared in applause. Jay pulled me into his side and waved to everyone. I copied his waving and smiled at all of the happy people below us.

"Come on queen, we have things to discuss." Jay said as he took my hand and lead me off the balcony.

"Have fun!" Alix said as she winked at me. I blushed and giggled as we walked down the hallway and back to the den.

Jay shut and locked the door of the den before walking over to me.

"I have told the staff to leave us for the night. I'm sorry this isn't a great wedding night. I would love to give you the honeymoon you deserve but it's hard for me to leave here now." he said. I reached up to stroke his face.

"Jay, I told you, as long as I am with you I am happy." I said making him smile.

"I promise some day I will take you somewhere incredible for a vacation. Just the two of us. Maybe Paris, or Hawaii. But as for tonight, I will try my hardest to show you how much you mean to me and how much of a queen you really are." He said before passionately kissing me. I couldn't help but smile in the kiss as my stomach tightened with butterflies. "Let's go take a bath." He said and I nodded and lead him into the bathroom. I reached to his shoulders and took off his tuxedo jacket and bow tie. He watched me while biting his lip and he reached up to my hair to undo my bun. I felt it fall down over my shoulders as he combed through it with his fingers. I began undoing the buttons on his shirt and then untucked it from his pants by unbuckling his black leather belt. His shirt fell to the grey tiled floor on top of his jacket. His strong body revealed to me made me bite my lip in anticipation. Jay giggled out of the blue.
