Alrighty, there are many opinions about weeboos or weebs on the internet.

Some say, that Weeboos try to act japanese (negatively) and that they're just a bunch of annoying amateurs. They're just dumb wannabes and stuff like that.

Some say, that "So What" if people want to be japanese? If the Weebs are interested in Japanese culture, then you should let them. There's nothing wrong with wanting to embrace a different culture. So ya peeps gotta chill the fuck out.

Another side of the arguement says that it is offensive, it is cultural appropriation and that it is mockery.

*claps once* Right, so, from what I've read, people say that weeboos just learn the language from watching anime instead of learning professionally. So, it would seem like, weeboos only like Japan for the anime...and I think that the Japanese doesn't want to be known for JUST their anime, but as Japan as a whole.

So, I THINK that's where the whole "annoying amateur" thing comes from.

I think that it results from Japanese-American people being annoyed when a non-Japanese person asks about anime.

I-I mean, you just shouldn't expect all Japanese people to be like you see in the animes. Okay?

MAYBE, some japanese people don't even like anime.

So, don't stereotype.

And for the "embracing culture part," I would say that it's KIND OF true.

But anime isn't all of Japanese Culture.....probably like 1/99 of it.

Plus, the Japanese probably find it offensive or annoying if tourists are all like "Anime" this, "Anime" that, when there's more to Japan other than anime.

So, if you want to be Japanese, don't do it for anime, do it for Japan *dramatically fists the air*
