Chapter Thirteen: Astonish

It seemed as if we've been driving for hours. I looked over at the clock, noticing only twenty minutes has passed, "where are we going?!" I asked desperately. I hated surprises. Libby smirked, pulling off of the highway to the LAX airport, "you'll see." She parked the car in the parking lot, popping open the trunk, "grab your bags." I went to the back, pulling out the suitcases I had brought to my dads. "Honestly Libby, where are we going?!" I pleaded, pouting my lips. She walked over to me smiling, and planted a kiss on my forehead, "patience love." We stepped into the airport, which was busy with family's going on vacation, businessmen yelling into blackberries, and rich older women holding their Louis Vuitton's. Libby gripped my arm and whispered in my ear, "this is where we're going." Looking to where she was pointing I saw the neon lights, "New York". "Why New York?" I asked quizzically. She walked ahead to the ticket booth, holding out her black AmEx card, "you'll see." I rolled my eyes, ugh, another surprise.

Two plane rides, and ten hours later we landed at the JFK Airport. Libby grabbed my hand and led me towards the luggage carousel. "How are we even going to get around Libby?" I asked frustrated. This whole "surprise" thing was really starting to get under my skin. "You'll see." She said again with a smirk. Walking into the busy airport lobby I saw a man dressed in a black suit, holding a sign saying "Wittburg". I pointed at it, astonished. "That's for us?!" I asked in shock. She smiled and nodded, handing our suitcases to the driver, "I have a lot to tell you. Piper. Things you didn't know about me.." I looked at her confused, "what do you mean Libby? What could I possibly not know?" Libby told me everything I thought. What could she be keeping from me?
