Chapter Eleven: Captured

I pulled back the curtain to get a better view of what Libby was talking about. My mum stood at the front door, pounding on it like a mad-woman. "I know you're here!" She called, her face turning red with anger, "and you better get the hell out this instant." I watched her pound on the door, laughing at her. "Why the hell are you laughing?!" Libby asked me, shocked. I smiled and shook my head, "what's she going to do?" I replied. Libby shrugged and looked out the window again at my crazy mother, "she's seems pretty mad." I rolled my eyes, "let her be mad." I watched my mother pace back and forth for a while, mumbling to herself until she finally left, "god, took her long enough." Libby said with a sigh. I came up behind her, wrapping her in a hug, "don't let it bother you." I said, kissing the back of her neck. She smiled and turned around, wrapping her arms around my neck, "I won't." She pecked me lightly on the lips, and tucked my hair behind my ear, "I just hope you're okay." I opened my mouth to respond when my dad burst through the door, "you need to leave, now!" He yelled. "What?! Why?!" I asked, breaking my embrace from Libby. His face looked panicked and his forehead was gleaming with sweat, "you mum brought the police." I stood there, stunned. The police?! What were they going to do?! "Why?! There's nothing they can do!" I said, shaking my head. My dad looked me in the eyes, a frown plastered on his face, "Piper, legally you can't leave your mum until you're 18. I'm not allowed to have custody." I started to panic hearing this news, it couldn't be true. "So what exactly are you saying?!" I yelled, my voice filled with fear. "They're coming to take you," he started, "and there's nothing we can do."
