"Hard right!" Miles cried, gripping onto a handle. Chip turned right, the helicopter almost going upside-down. The USA helicopter followed closely, clearly a trained pilot, unlike Chip who read how to drive it from a book.

"How are we going to lose that thing?!" I cried, clutching Avery's hand.

"We need a diversion!" Chip commands, swerving he helicopter from side to side. Adrenaline spiked as I watched a military soldier aim a machine gun right at us.

I barley had time to react as bullets pierced through the metal vehicle. I grabbed Avery and hit the ground of he helicopter.

"Agh! We lost the engine and one of the blades isn't working. We need to abandon ship, this thing is going down!" Chip yelled, pulling off his headshot. Miles did he same. I felt the helicopter do a nosedive, heading straight towards the ground. Aaron grabbed the door and pulled open the door, the wind messing up our hair

"Jump!" Chip cried, climbing over his pilot seat to reach the open door. Wasting no time he hurled himself off, followed by Aaron. Miles nodded to me as he jumped, leaving me and Avery.

"I love you." I told her, holding her hand as we jumped off. The wind seemed to rip through me as we plummeted, my heart speeding up.

"Woohoo!" Miles cried below me, and I wondered how he remained so cheerful.

Aaron began flailing as he began... Changing. He grew larger and larger and he began mutating, growing scales and turning the color white. I watched as he took the form of a white dragon. Shock filled my fear as he grabbed Miles and Chip with his claws.

I suddenly felt someone grab my shirt and looked up to see Avery, hovering with a confident smile.

"Your ability is flying..." I said in awe as she slowly descended.

"And Aaron's is shape-shifting!" Avery cried happily as we slowly reached the ground, dropping me onto the grass. I rolled over and sat up, watching in amazement as Aaron landed, releasing Miles and Chip. Then he began shrinking again, shifting back into a human.

"Holy shit." I murmured, Miles grinning wildly as he approached Aaron, "Dude, that was awesome!"

Aaron gave a shaken smile before collapsing, obviously exhausted from using his power. Miles picked him up, looking at Chip, "What now?"

Chip shrugged, "How should I know? Our helicopter just crashed and the army is after us!"

I put a hand on the stressed out pilot, "Hey, everything's going to be okay. Think on the bright side, we all have super cool powers and it'll all work out. We'll lay low here a bit, go back for Taylor and then travel to your house."

Miles grinned, "Sounds good to me."

Chip nodded, "Yeah, yeah that sounds good."

"So let's find a place to hunker down." I said giving a small smile. Before we knew it we were walking through Connecticut. We had no clue what city we were, but didn't care. We got strange looks because of our hospital gowns, burnt and bloody, but we weren't stopped as we reached an abandoned store. The windows and door had been boarded up, but that didn't stop the group. Chip found a metal pole, in which I used to break a hole in the wood to crawl through. I went first, stepping in and looking around. The place was empty, a few bits of trash littering some corners, but it was pretty decent.

Miles lay Aaron down on the ground, "We need supplies, stuff to sleep on, food, clothes..."

Chip sighed, leaning against the wall, "This is insane."

"Eh, survived a helicopter crash, wasn't on my bucket list, but that was pretty badass." I said, sitting as Avery rested her head on my shoulder, also drained from using her power.

"I'll just steal stuff, I can turn invisible." Miles said, looking up.

I rose a brow, "You think it's safe?"

Miles nodded, "It'll be find Jace, don't be a worry wart."

I rolled my eyes, "Hey, it's your funeral."

Miles crossed his arms, "Whatever man, I'll be back soon with supplies. Don't get into trouble."

With that he turned and ducked out into the street. Silence settled over Chip, Avery and I.

"Let's get some rest." I suggested, and Chip grinned, "Good idea." He lay on the cold ground, closing his eyes. I leaned back and closed my eyes, Avery started snoring softly and I felt myself slowly drift off.
