"I'm going to look for Miles... Stay put." I told Avery, glancing at Chip.

"I'll protect her." Chip promised, giving a small nod. I smiled and made my way to the door, ducking out and into the fresh air. I had no idea where Miles would have gone, looking around win curiously. Then I got an idea. Miles lived on the roof of the warehouse, he must be on the roof of the store. I looked up at the roof, only seeing the edge.

I circled the store, finding a metal ladder leading to the roof. I ran to it and climbed up it, rung by rung. As I reached the roof, I heard the soft sound of crying. I looked around to find Miles sitting against a chimney, his head bowed.

"Miles?" I asked softly, taking a step forward. Miles glanced up, before angrily wiping at his eyes and sniffing, "Hey Jace..."

"Are you okay?" I asked, taking another step.

"What do you think?" Miles asked sarcastically, sighing.

"I'm really sorry about what happened..." I said, taking a seat next to him. He looked at me, his eyes bloodshot and watery, "It's not your fault... There's no need to apologize."

We sat in an awkward silence before I said, "We're going to rescue him-"

"Yeah, well what if he's already dead Jace?! What if they killed him?" Miles cried, closing his eyes as he breathed deeply.

"I'll heal him." I said, looking at my hands.

"Yeah, just like how you healed Sam." Miles said, raising a brow. Anger boiled inside me as I clenched my fists, "Shut the hell up! You have no right to talk about her!"

He furrowed his brow, "Oh I don't huh? Why? Because I didn't know her? Is that it?!"

"Miles..." I warned, getting to my feet.

"Your such a baby; oh no, some punk died! I'm so sad! Everyone look at me! I'm sad!" Miles taunted. I had no idea where this mean side of him came from, but it pissed me off. I drew back and kicked his side, causing him to fall on his side, "SHUT UP!"

"Why don't you make me?" Miles grunted, getting to his feet. I gritted my teeth, charging. He was prepared and dodged, and I stopped myself, turning.

"Defending your dead girlfriend... How charming!" Miles said, smirking.

"I told you to shut UP!" I yelled, running and pushing against him. He pushed back, our hands locked as we shoved against each other. I kicked at him, but he blocked with his leg.

"What're you gonna do? Cry and throw a tantrum?" Miles taunted. That was the last straw. I drew back and as Miles thought I was retreating, I kicked hard, hitting his nuts. He howled, whimpering. I kicked again and he dropped to his knees. Seeing my chance, I tackled him, punching angrily at his face.

"You! Stupid! Jackass!" I yelled between hits, blinded my rage. Miles growled and shoved me off, "You little runt!"

His lip was cut and he had a black eye, proving I had made an impact. He charged, anger all over his face. We collided into each other, as he pinned me to the ground, my head slamming against the concrete roof. My mind was all jumbled up as I blinked. Miles loomed over me, his face close to mine. I stared into his eyes, not able to read his emotions.

"I'm sorry." He said softly before he leaned in closer and I felt his warm lips press against mine. My eyes widened as my head sped up, confusion and surprise filling my mind. Miles pressed harder, his hand cupping behind my head. Finally, he pulled back, a satisfied grin on his face.

"Wh-what?!" I sputtered as he got to his feet and walked towards the ladder. "See you downstairs." He said calmly, winking he began climbing down.

I sat in shock, the tingling sensation of his lips against mine still lingering. I gently touched my lips, my heart pounding with emotion. How would I respond? Was Miles gay? I was so confused. I put my head in my hands as a smile crept across my face. I just had my first kiss.
