Hey guys! It's a little story time with Grandma Melanie!

Just kidding...a Pokémon Journey story by Elemeno. This is a story of how a little girl got spoiled with Pokémon, and it changed her life.

I couldn't recall when I really started liking Pokémon. I was a very little girl when I started liking it.

Hmm...let's just say...1999.

It was 1999 when I remembered watching the Pokémon anime and I thought it was the best show ever. I was pretty young back then, so I didn't really remember the episodes.

But yeah...one thing I knew is that I loved Pokémon right from that moment.

I also watched my brothers play the different Pokémon games, and I enjoyed watching them play, especially since I wanted to play too. But then...all I can do if I can actually play is start a new game, but never really progress.

So I was stuck watching the Pokémon anime...but I had no regrets.

I just didn't remember the events much.

Except for Pokémon the First Movie.

The part where Ash turned into stone was too fricking emotional that it was forever in my memory.

I've watched a lot of emotional stuff over the years, but that moment still takes the number one spot.

So yeah...back to the main topic.

Because of my love for Pokémon as a little kid, my family would buy me a lot of Pokémon-related stuff, at least around 1999-2001. I remember times when my sister got home from school and she'd buy me some candy because there was a free Pokémon toy inside.

I ended up having a lot of Pokémon figurines that are still decorated in my room up to this day...and not all of them are decorated. Oh. And I had more Pikachu figurines than fingers.

Now...let's have a time skip to 2006. During that time skip, I didn't really do much Pokémon-related stuff. I did get the chance to play Pokémon Ruby, Emerald and Leaf Green, but again, not my copy, thus I never got to finish it.

Pokémon...pretty much...wasn't my number one thing anymore. It was replaced by dolls and stuffed pigs. (I eventually gave up on the dolls, but they are still decorated in my room. I still love my stuffed pigs. I would talk about my love for them here, but this is Pokémon.)

However, the Pokémon anime was once again aired on TV in our country. I remember getting a sense of excitement when I watched that.

The nostalgia was real.

Ever since, the love for Pokémon returned (although it never really left...it was just hiding), and it was stronger than ever. I would watch the anime all the time, and even the re-runs. I didn't care if it was all first season.

Because of this, I made more guy friends. I even got a guy best friend out of this because we would talk about Pokémon almost every break time. I met someone who was just as addicted as me. However, it kinda got creepy because he ended up having a crush on me, but it was very short term. He ended up dating one of my best friends, but they broke up because he was a jerk and he might have started seeing someone else online, and that kinda ended our friendship too.

BTW, I never liked him back. I am proud to say that he was in the friendzone.

We would awkwardly say hi whenever we pass by each other. I knew very well that he still loved Pokémon as much as I did. I remember him posting a picture on Facebook that he got a special figurine when he pre-ordered Pokémon Omega Ruby. Oh...and I Streetpassed him once, without us seeing each other, but I knew it was him. He has a pretty unique name.
