Chapter 18: Why her

Damon's POV:

"I have cancer." I looked at her and walked out as fast as I could. I couldn't see her without breaking down. I ran into the woods and I was at a cliff. I collapsed. I couldn't control my humanity everything came flooding I cried and wondered how this had to happen to her. And Stefan the love of her life took off. That's it I have to find my brother for her.

Matt's POV:

I haven't heard from Ronnie in a long time and I got really worried. So I dialed Ronnie's number hoping for her to pick up. "Hello." "Hey its Matt how are you? how have you been?." I hear coughing. "Ronnie are you okay?." "Hey Matt I have something to tell you. I have cancer." I started to feel pain the girl I have known forever and token care off is dying. "Where are you can I come see you." "Yeah. You can I'm in forks and don't tell Jer or Bonnie or Caroline. I just need you right now." "Okay I will come as soon as I can I'm coming." I hung up and drove to my house and started packing.

Stefan's POV:

I ended up at a bar and I asked for a drink. I started drinking a lot. I sit here wondering why her. Why the love of my life. "Well hello brother. Drinking away like I did Elena." "Damon I don't need anything from you." "Why is that she is the love of your life Stefan. She is your humanity. Your going to hate me for saying this but... She has cancer Stefan. So go ahead drown your misery here when your girl needs you." "Damon every ounce of pain just hit me like a truck and hearing you say she has....cancer. I just wonder why it has to be her. Why her why does this pain always happen to me." "I don't know brother but all I know is that she needs you."
"Okay brother let's go."

Bella's POV:

I hear Edward playing the lullaby he wrote me and teaching our daughter Renesmee. She is older now and is soon to marry Jake. I'm happy for my daughter and Damon and Stefan. I worry for Ron. So I decided to go up to see her. I see that she's on her phone smiling. "What are you smiling for." I lay next to her. "Just photos of everyone and me and Stefan the pictures that damon took on my phone and just memories that I'm going to miss when I go." She smiles her bright smile like she always did even when I met her. I smile. "Hey everything will be okay trust me. Death is peaceful, quiet. I died and what I thought it would be painful but it wasnt. Now I have a beautiful baby girl who is grown up and marrying my best friend. And I learned to accept it and Stefan won't let you go I know him." She looked at me and hugged me and we sat there looking at photos.

Damon's POV:

I finally got Stefan to come back. We had Bonnie do a cloaking spell to keep us safe. Mostly for Ron's sake. Stefan is talking to Emmett they are getting along. I walk upstairs and to see Bella and Ron looking on her phone laughing and coughing. But mostly laughing. I smiled just looking at her I just wonder how such an amazing person have such terrible things happen to her. I just want the best for her. I saw Bella start to walk out of the room. "Well hi Damon how have you been?" "Great just watching her." She smiled and defended down the stairs. I still looked at Ron and I smiled she is just like Elena I wonder how that happened. I walked downstairs to see Stefan gone. "Hey Blondie." Rosalie turned around. "Yes Damon how could I possibly help you." She was always cocky. I liked it. "Where's Stefan he needs to see his girl." I don't know he took off with Jasper and Emmett." I was confused maybe they went out to eat. I went into the kitchen and made Ron something to eat.

Stefan's POV:

"Well that was Sam we have to go to a treaty meeting." I looked at Jasper one of Damon's friends from the war. "What's that if I may ask." "We have a treaty with the wolves shapshifters." "Oh so like Jacob." "Yes like Jacob you can come see how this works of you would like to." "Uh sure why not." I started walking out with Jasper and Emmett and I hear Ron sleeping. I smiled and walked out. We all ran to the creek. And so did the wolves. They were in their human form. "We have come to ask why Damon has came back." Jasper and I looked at each other. "Why do you ask Sam." "Damon decades ago almost saltured this whole town his humanity was off and we would like for him to leave." "I'm his brother Stefan Salvatore and I would like to say he has changed. He has a wife and a life he is a changed man he can control himself." Sam looks at me. "We will be checking in on him one death and he w0ill die." Sam and the pack ran off. Jasper and I looked at each other and ran back to the house.

Ronnie's POV:

I fell asleep what seems like hours and Damon was beside me with dinner. "Oh thanks Damon." He sat it on me it was a breakfast meal. Mmmm my favorite. "Mmm breakfast meal how did you know." I started to dig in I was really hungry and I missed him cooking for me. "How are you Ron." "I'm getting better Carlisle said if I take more sips of Stefan's blood it should bring me back to normal." "That's great." He had a low smile so I brightened up my smile just for him. I finished my plate and he took and went back down stairs. It was 11pm and I was reading a book that Bella gave me. It was called A Walk to remember by Nicholas Sparks. It was good but its also sad. And sounds like what I'm going through. I set it down and look up to see Damon. "You scared me." She cracks a smile and laughs a little. "What's up?." He turns on music. "Well I thought since your dying maybe one dance with me wouldn't kill you." I chuckled same old Damon. "May I have this dance." "Yes you may." He helps me out of bed and we start to dance to Give me love by Ed Sheeran. My favorite song. I lay my head on his shoulder and we slow dance to the song. "Ron." "Yes Damon." "Can you promise me something." "Anything." "Promise me you'll always be my brother's." I looked at him with confusion. "Of course I'm always going to be his." "Then promise me one more thing." "Okay?." "Promise to forgive me." He bit his wrist and forcefully shoved it into my mouth. I can feel he liquid running down my throat then it all went dark.

Edward's POV:

I was talking to Jacob about the wedding when I hear Ronnie scream. And Jacob heard it too we ran to my room to see Damon making Ronnie drink his blood and snapped her neck. Jacob rushed over to her. I looked at Damon with so much anger. "Why the hell did you do that to her! She was Stefan's wife your brothers wife! And you kill her!." "Oh shut up I'm making her one of my kind so she can live with Stefan and not suffer this pain anymore." "She wasn't in pain Damon I know this Bella always talked to her." "Because clearly you can't see she could barley move without it hirtig and it hurt her when her damn husband isn't there for her. This time I did the right thing I couldn't see her in pain anymore it killed me Edward so much and you know it would kill you if Bella was in a state like that to." I looked at him and got really upset. This man has so much passion for her and he tool care of her even when the love of her life couldn't. " okay set her on the bed make her comfy and clean her up." I walked out and so did Jacob.

Stefan's POV:

"You did what!" I threw a vase at Damon. "I did the right thing you weren't there for her like I am." "So what does that gibe you the right to do that to her she could have had a choice. A human choice Damon. What do you think that she is Elena well she isn't and you took that ability away from her." "I did it so she could stop suffering! Because you weren't there for her like I was Stefan. She isn't going to be sired to me she loves you too much." "We will see and one last thing if she does get sired to you I will kill you." I walk upstairs to see that Alice made her look beautiful. I felt so bad for not being there for her. I brush her cheek and she feels cold. Hopefully she wakes up and doesn't get sired to my brother.

I can't lose her.
