This whole day, I was unable to find Silas

This whole day, I was unable to find Silas.

Now that I have heard the news, it was easy to spot him at the upper deck aft of the cruise on his balcony.
He was right above Daniel and I.

I wasted no time going to his VIP suite.

Normally, I would have never even approached his room but the urgency in my legs propelled me forward to breach that rule. Balling my hand into a fist, I knocked against his door a few times. Silence.

I heard no steps walking towards me nor the click of the doorknob turning. I swallowed, my heartbeat felt high up in my neck.

I raised my hand up again and hit harder and for longer– the sound reflecting the desperation my mind and body exuded. The nails of my fingers bit the palm of my hand as I tried to control the tremors.

The door finally opened, revealing Silas and his dishevelled blond hair that looked like it had been run through with his hand a million times. My gaze shifted behind him towards his desk flooded with papers and his laptop open. I met his brooding eyes again. Despite the upheld look of his iron clothes, he had probably not rested those eyes since yesterday.

I couldn't help but feel like it was my fault he was in this state. He had an executive assistant for a reason and I clearly didn't do my job. Instead, I had been lounging the day off as asked of me.

Remembering what Daniel told me, I felt a pang in my chest. Not only that but he has suddenly made a decision and I had not known.

I sniffed, nervously rolling my lower lip in my mouth.
Maybe it was my fault for getting used to Silas telling me business matters.

"I told you you were off for today." A cut and clean sentence. That was all he said before sitting behind his desk. He didn't say it but it was like he was discarding me away. My eyes widened slightly at the suddency of his cold tone.

The hurt started to turn into a hopeless mix of frustration and a little anger. My emotions have been on this constant rollercoaster since the show has started. Everyday something new was added. Silas himself had given me a heart attack due to his touchy actions and now this behaviour out of thin air?

Everything I got from this job helped me survive my loneliness but this break had only done damage. If anything, I felt useless. So utterly useless and aware of my weakness.

I stepped inside his suite and closed the door behind me. Hard. "I have been off today for a reason and I would really like to know why I am while on a business trip. Just what have you been doing?"

I knew what he did. I honestly wanted to know why.

"Doing my job." He said, seeming in pain by his own words. I frowned even more. It was moments like these where I wanted him to explain his damn self.
