This date was weird. Off-putting.

I narrowed my eyes at them through the screen.
Rina was pretty to say the least, her bone-structure model worthy. Her pitch black hair fell straight down to her lower back, eyes wide contoured by longer lashes and the beauty mark near her mouth complimented her small but plump lips.

We had another girl on the list for today's schedule but she cancelled at the last minute despite making it on time.

Filming was delayed but we quickly found a replacement. I wished it was cancelled instead. And maybe I could've avoided watching this ... chemistry? I didn't know what to call what was brewing between the two people on the screen.
My skin itched to leave.

Rina seemed to know Silas already. They seemed to know each other. There was not a single note of discomfort in Silas' behaviour other than his initial surprise at her reveal.

Conversation flowed extremely well. Too well.

Where did he know her from? There was no way this was their first time meeting. I knew him. I think.

My eyes didn't leave the screen till filming cut.
I watched as Silas wrapped his arm around her, giving her a side hug as she in return held his neck with her hand.

The same arm that was around my waist.

I blinked my attention away from the screen, quietly kissing my teeth in annoyance as a reflex. I stood up abruptly from my chair, it screeching behind me.

I felt a few eyes on me when leaving the room but paid them no mind as I went up to my office. I needed to go home. It was clear I was fleeing from something. Something on the tip of my tongue.

Only a few more minutes till eight o'clock and I clock out. Everything was packed to go back to my apartment.
All my brain needed to do was block out whatever overthinking it was trying to do about the interaction I just witnessed.

I squeezed my eyes shut. "Stop it, Vivienne."

Reluctant thoughts flooded my brain instead like a weak dam breaking.

My arms sprawled across my desk, my upper body slumping forward. "Ugh. They definitely kissed."

It slipped out before I could stop myself. "He looked happy." I mumbled.

Wait– I straightened my back against my seat, my head jerking backwards in confusion at the words that left me.

Clasping my hand against my mouth, I murmured. "I am jealous?" My statement came out as a question even though I knew the answer.

Suddenly someone knocked on the door, the heavy sound putting a sharp stop to my descending spiral. Scrambling to gather myself together, I yelled, "Come in!"
