Before this chapter, I know my writing style is not that good yet. I will go back to these chapters and edit them but in the meantime, I'll focus on improving my writing so I won't have to edit so many when I complete the book. Enjoy :)
Chapter Two
***
There they are, exchanging swift punches and kicks. Another explosion blew out which came from behind judging from where its sound came from. I jolted when the teal tights man threw Anderson out the glass door which shattered the glass in different directions. The teal Super then jumps out to Anderson but misses when Anderson manages to do a roll and avoid the heavy punch which left the concrete cracked. I quickly got on my feet and headed outside before the building colaspes. There were no people outside, almost as if they were all held hostage in the building. I tried contacting the emergency numbers, but they were all busy.
"Rose, don't stay here!" Anderson yelled as he dodged the flying punches.
"But you told me to go with you!" I yelled back. He then flies up which left me speechless. The teal Super follows and ascends up. Am I actually seeing this? I quickly grabbed my phone to record the fight on air but my phone wouldn't turn on, I could have sworn I charged this this morning. Before I knew it, the school's roof explodes in red hot flames and dark smoke. I could hear the screams, I was too selfish on going out here without even helping out a student or two.
"I'm going back in!" I screamed and knew Anderson heard.
"Wait, Rose! You can't-" Anderson was interrupted from a punch in the abdomen. I quickly ran back inside and avoided the different debris. There, I saw a freshman lying down on the ground, by the comfort room. I quickly ran towards the young student and checked if she was still breathing. She was still alive, I carried her on my shoulder and pulled her with me outside. My knees shook but that didn't matter. The fight was still going on, none of the two had blood or bruises anywhere on their body. I hurriedly rested the freshman beneath a big tree, away from the building and from the two Supers. I ran back inside to save another life, another explosion was heard, the fire department should be here by now, not even the medics or the police are here? I entered the building once again and ran straight in the corridor, no classrooms were open except one, it was a science lab. I jogged towards the threshold and saw two people lying on the ground, both were probably on my level.
"Hello? Is anyone there?" One of the two guys said faintly.
"I'm here."
I couldn't possibly carry the two heavy bodies, of all men, why'd they have to be jocks. I checked both their pulses, still conscious. I then lifted one of their arm, I started with the guy on the left which looked much lighter and shorter.
"Come on." I murmured and slowly dragged his body with me towards the entrance. The smoke got even thicker, I got nauseous and couldn't handle the weight and air anymore. Coughs fired out from my mouth, I collapsed without knowing anything else, my eyes closed and I could still feel the heavy torso above me. This was it, I'm going to get fried. Another boom went out which sent the ceiling above me crashing. I closed my eyes shut and heard the sound of concrete hitting the ground but not on me or the jock.
"You can open your eyes now." I heard Anderson's voice said. I quickly opened my eyes and looked up, he was there, entirely scratchless. He then pulls the guy on top of me away and up his shoulders.
"I'll give this one a chance." Anderson mumbled which I clearly heard.
"What do you mean a chance? And what happened to the guy in tights?" I asked. Anderson shrugged and started walking towards the entrance.
