Chapter 15 - Forbidden

Chapter 15

Emmett and I dodged the bullet easily. "You know this guy?" Emmett asked me.

"He's in my class," I answered then turned my attention back to Jim. "How'd you know?"

"I know of the Cullens, and when I heard that one of them is going to be in my class, I took this oppurtunity,"

"You got this wrong, man," Emmett tried to calm him down. "We didn't kill your sister. We don't kill,"

"Vampires kill," Jim hissed. "I saw a vampire killed my sister two years ago. He sucked her dry! I was just hiding that time so he didn't see me. You monsters deserve to die!" he pointed the gun at Emmett and pulled the trigger once again. Emmett dodged it of course but Jim's next action shocked me the most. He was pointing the gun at the side of his head.

"Sorry we're late," some girl appeared behind the tree.

"Who are you?" I asked and saw Jim staring straight ahead with the gun still pointed at the side of his head.

"Blyte Evergreen," she answered. Her features were of a vampire. I tried to familiarize with her but it was the first time that I'd seen her. Emmett was trying to familiarize her too but I could see that we were thinking the same thing. We didn't know her.

Another figure came out behind her and this time, the vampire was very familiar. "Alec," I breathed out.

"Should I finish him?" Blyte asked.

"N-No," I stuttered. Blyte Evergreen must be the person Alice was talking about. The one that was destined to be with Alec. The strongest vampire that has ever lived. "Please don't kill him,"

"Very well," she said emotionlessly. "Since you said 'please',"after a second, Jim dropped the gun and walked away. "Don't worry, he won't remember a thing about vampires or anyone killing his sister. He will just believe that she died because of suicide,"

"How'd you know?" Emmett asked then suddenly remembered something. "I remember, you got mad telepathy skills,"

"I believe that you've been informed about me," Blyte said.

"I believe that Alice already saw us coming?" Alec asked and Emmett nodded. "We're going to be staying at your house for three days until the gathering,"

"Let's not talk about that here," Emmett said then turned around to start running. I tailed him whilst the other two tailed behind us.

"Aro told us to invite you to the gathering of the vampires all around the world," Alec explained to Carlisle and the rest of the family. He kept glancing at me and I was getting uncomfortable about that. Blyte was just sitting beside him, I tried to block my thoughts from her but I knew it was impossible.

"Don't read my mind," Edward told Blyte.

"Well," she looked at him. "Don't read mine,"

"Behave, Evergreen," Alec hissed from behind her.

"Make me," she challenged. If they were meant to be together, why did it seem like they were enemies? Why did it seem like they hated each other? "You can't shield me from my powers again!" she yelled.

"He can shield you from your powers?" Bella asked.

"He can," Blyte sighed but returned to her emotionless state. "We're here to stay for three days, as Aro instructed,"

"Alice and Jasper," Carlisle then instructed. "Can you please prepare the guest room?" Alice and Jasper nodded first before disappearing.

I was just leaning my back against the tree when someone decided to join me. "Alec," saying his name made me feel so unsure. "Where's Blyte?"

"Who cares about her?" he sat beside me.

"Why do you hate her?" I asked him. "You're supposed to be together like Alice said,"

"She's not you, Brynn," he looked at me straightly into the eyes. "I'm in love with you,"

My half-alive heart started to beat really fast. "You can't. Why don't you like Blyte anyway? She's beautiful, she's strong, she—"

"She does nothing good," he finished for me though I was going to say something else. "She's just a weapon in my eyes. She's just someone who's going to help the Volturi. I don't want someone who's full of herself in my life. I want someone like you, Brynn. You're not her. You're nothing like her. She's just nothing to me. She's nothing in this world while you, you're everything,"

"You can't say that, Alec," I shook my head. "It's wrong,"

"No," he argued. "I need to tell you this. You're full of life while Blyte, she has no soul. She doesn't have emotions, she is full of hatred...like me. I want someone full of happiness to change me, how could someone who's the same as me, change me?"

"Do you know anything else about her?" I asked. "When did she arrive?"

"Last night,"

"You should know more about her,"

"I can't," his eyes showed complete emotion. He was nothing like Alec from before. The guy who was with me now was someone with feelings. "I want you, Brynn. Just you,"

He then placed his lips onmine. I didn't know if I should kiss back. I didn't want to kiss back. I didn'tfeel the same way about him. "Bloody hell," someone muttered and Alec pulledaway from me. There I saw Seth looking at us with a shocked expression on hisface.
