THE ELEMENTS OF POWER

CHAPTER 60, MOONLIT POND.

Kal and scarlet had stopped at a cabin they found, as they went deeper into the forest.
Kal looked in confusion most of the time, hardly listening to anything she was saying.
That necklace..why is it throbbing? Is there some sort of power in it? Is...that why scarlet is being so strange? He thought. Although moonlight has taken control of scarlet, she can read Kals mind in an instant.
Scarlet sweated slightly.
" ahem, uh, so...if we just knock on the door maybe we could spend the night right? Let's give it a whirl" she suggested.
He nodded.
Scarlet knocked on the door, and it opened a few minutes afterwards.
"Uh, hello?" Said a teenage unicorn, with matted dark red hair and yellow eyes.
" woah, judging by the way you look I cannot believe your a unicorn!" Scarlet laughed.
She rolled her eyes.
" I get that too much. what do you want exactly?" She said with an icy tone.
Kal looked disappointed.
" don't be so rude scarlet!"
Scarlet turned around to face him.
She scoffed. " rude? Are we going to pretend
All the stuff you said about sophie didnt happen?" She scowled.
Kal rolled his eyes.
" I don't want another argument..plus I don't know why you like her, you've changed so much."
" I don't like her, I despise her thank- I mean, no, I do! And that's the reason I defend her. She...uh, gets me unlike you" scarlet sweated. Hopefully he didn't hear that slip up, he's already suspecting things.
" ahem?"
They both turned.
" sorry I forgot you were there. We were wondering if we could spend the night?" Scarlet asked politely.
" uh, let me think about that.." Kathy thought.
" uh, no!" And the door slammed shut on their faces.
" ugh...it's staying to get dark..."  Kal whispered.
" it's fine, I know a place." An evil glint scattered across her eyes for a brief second, but she moved on without question.
Maybe if I pretend to like him more, he'll understand why I'm acting strange. Scarlet, well moonlight, thought to herself.

They walked down an old path, and the darker it got, the more moon plants they saw.
" scarlet, aren't we getting close to moonlight from here?"
" no? I'm taking us to the moonlit pond. It's a place where you can see your most wanted dreams and such...it's a lovely place. Summer used to love it."
" how do you know about that place? And..you don't know summer...right?"
" oh I uh mean..Sophie told me! She told me about the elements of harmony some time ago, yeah."
" oh uh okay."
They arrived at the destination, a sparkly cave with enchanted texts written over it, moon crystals glowing.
The power of the necklace only grew here.
They went deeper into the cave and found the beauty of the moon pond there, glimmering in the moon crescent.
" it's..beautiful."
" how did you find out about this place scarlet?"
What do I say? Uhh...
" oh...uh.....Sophie showed me it one time !"
" this deep into the forest? Wow."
" yep."
They sat there in silence for awhile.
Scarlet watched as Kal gazed  into the moonlit pond and saw his dream.

The group all murmured amongst themselves, laughing.
Just the elements of friendship.
Lizz walked to Kal, and they had a chat.
" hey Kal, I saw you eyeing me. I know you said you liked scarlet...I was wondering if you still do?" Her eyes glinted with hope.
" I don't like anymore, Lizz. But I've got my eyes on someone."
" oh yeah?" She laughed, her element of laughter living up to its name.
" want to guess who?" Kal smiled.
" ooo okay!...jewel?"
" nope!"
"Maisy?"
"You know she likes Jewel!"
"That lady in the bakery we see every morning? What's her name....beckett?"
"Nooo!"
"Me?"
His eyes widened slightly, and he blushed.
He raised a brow.
" maybe."
She giggled.
" quite the romantic huh? Go on, I'm all here for it"
" okay, I've got my eyes on you, Lizz."
" I've got mine on you too"
They stared at each other, and smiled.
Suddenly everything went back to the cave. The moon pond, still. Scarlet watching.
" no...no it can't be over!"
Scarlet shrugged.
" that's what they all say"
" I don't understand.."
She titled her head in confusion.
" you said this was dreams we wanted. I just got a flashback of what happened years ago."
" then you want to go back to the past I suppose."
He went to sit down next to scarlet.
" why don't you give it a go?"
She sweated. He would be able to see what moonlight wants, right? Or would it show scarlets wanting?
" I don't know-"
" go on!"  He nudged her.
"Maybe not I don't think-"
" it's fun, scarlet. And I feel like we haven't had that in awhile!" He smiled.
Scarlet smiled awkwardly.
" okay I guess." I need to pretend I like him..so I guess this will help? Oookay, let's do this.
She stared into the pond, and dreamed....

She stood her ground and watched as moonlight fell to the ground, dead. Slayed by scarlet herself.
" I did it...we did it..." she heaved.
Sophie was by her side.
" couldn't have done it without you, scarlet."
She tilted her head up with her hand and caressed her face.
Scarlet blushed slightly.
She turned to everyone else, Opal, summer, coco, Sabrina, Kal, Valentina, cane, scourge, Maisy, Jewel, Izzy, Lizz, Leo, sunlight, evelyn, and everyone who helped them get this far.
She smiled. Sophie had become peace again,
The QUAK'BR back under Sophie's control and moonlight dead, all elements reunited, magestia was safe. For now...but safe. And they will make sure evil never creeps its way back again.
She ended the dream.

Atleast it wasn't my dream. She thought. But that was a nightmare.
" that's a nice dream," Kal said.
" and we will achieve it."
Scarlet smiled slightly, even though secretly she hated it, but nodded.
" I sure hope so."
Suddenly, a voice sounded from a wall in the cave.
" hello, I hear the pond doing its magic, who's there?" The voice became closer until they revealed themself.
Scarlet and Kal gasped.
" summer?"
Kal blinked,
