The strange symbols clearly followed an old path to an abandoned village, as the group of 4 walked through the village, something felt off.
All of the people here looked awful and washed up.
Maisy looked at them with concern.
" I bet this is where Sophie is at the moment, judging by how everyone is so depressed HA" Jewel laughed.
Cane gave her a judgmental look.
" hey, don't talk about my almost-leader like that!" She snapped.
Jewel looked curious.
" hm? Almost leader?"
" yeah, since me and scourge are draft elements. We were originally gonna be with Sophie." Cane said proudly.
" why do you look so happy about that? She's literally pure evil! If she were really here, she would've killed us all!" Jewel pointed out.
" be careful, she can pick and choose what she hears." Cane said and walked to one of the houses.
" I say we stay here to sleep." Cane says.
Jewel thought about what she said.
She can pick and choose? What she hears? How...?
Cane knocked on the door.
A rugged woman crept out, tired and sad.
" oh, hello there. Did you get slavered here too?" She asked.
Cane looked confused.
" uh, no lady. We need this house."
The others exchanged worried glances.
" it's all yours.." she moved out the way and ran off, leaving them a free house.
" jeez, they are all such scaredy-cats here. Amiright or amiright?" Cane laughed and gave all of them their bags.
" go, we need all the rest we can get to continue our journey. Everyone to sleep!"
" there's only two beds" scourge said.
" oh, well how about we have two in each bed. Jewel and Maisy you go together and me and scourge will because I know him more. Done!" They got into bed, scourge going red at the fact he was in a bed with cane.
Maisy and Jewel hugged each other goodnight and they all slept peacefully. Jewel felt weird.
She opened her eyes to see a dark forest. She saw a person..? Behind a tree, meditating.
"H-hello?" She crept closer, tensing.
The person meditating looked beautiful.
" woa, I need your hair routine!" She said. Jewel tapped her on the shoulder.
The person got up.
They started to change abit.
" ...wait..."
Their hair started to curl, and their eyes were going red.
" I.....Sophie?"
She turned around slowly.
" funny you didn't know at the start, hey?" She said in a sinister voice.
" why are you....how are you....i thought you were...I.." jewel backed up.
" let me ask you a question." She leaned closer.
" I have a girlfriend!" Jewel huffed.
Sophie got back up and looked disgusted.
" you really think I'd date you?"
Jewel rolled her eyes.
" Jewel, why do you hate me?" Sophie asked.
She felt taken aback. No one had properly asked her this question so direct, especially Sophie herself.
" I...well Maisy said-"
" I asked why do YOU hate me." Sophie sighed.
Jewel stayed silent.
" because your evil."
Sophie clenched her fist.
" Jewel, I am trying. You never could, could you? Not so generous now, are you, to think you're apart of the friendship group..." Sophie looked upset.
" why are you so upset? Is this because of your group? You never got on with them did you Sophie! You're just projecting the blame onto me!"
Sophie started to fade.
" Jewel.....wake up."
She woke up in an instant, sweating and light headed.
" I need to tell scarlet..."
