THE ELEMENTS OF POWER

CHAPTER 59, CRACKERJACK FOREST.

A swift wind approached, a storm was hinting its arrival. They all looked at each other. It was hard to deny the fact that they didn't exactly have a plan, but they held onto the small thread of hope they had left.
" come on, Soph!" Maisy said as she looked at the ticking clock on the wall, dazed by its ticks.
" aaaany time now!" Scourge urged.
Jewel and Maisy sighed. There was no way Sophie was coming, even if she could hear them or not, and by now they'd better get a move on: they didn't have much time left to spend, and they'd be wasting it this way. Cane needed their help.
" I've had enough of this- I'm going to sneak out at night. Scourge, Maisy, be on look out. If Sabrina sees one of you act normal- I'm leaving to get that silver bangle." Jewel declared.
Maisy gasped. Jewel had never been like this before- she usually found more interest in beauty and backing out of things dangerous. But this, this would be most terrifying to accomplish.
To try sneak past Sabrina, element of revenge, and all of those villagers would be no walk in the park. And finding the silver bangle could not be too easy.
" are...are you sure?" Maisy said.
" never been surer."
Scourge shot a worried glance.
" if you fail at this, all of us are at risk. You know that, right?" He sqauked.

The moon rised, everyone was in their beds, asleep. Apart from Jewel, who was ready for her plan to come into action.
She dressed herself in a black suit she designed herself and as she walked through the doorway, she took one last glance at the sleeping Maisy. She looked down and back to what led in front.
" I've got to do this for everyone, the fate of magestia is in my hands!" She said as she sneakily ran towards the large gates.
She could hear steps behind her but didn't bother to look back, she'd come so far to get out of this trap- why risk it all now? She fled for the forest and once she was out of sight from villagers and Sabrina's village, she heaved a sigh and rested for a minute.
" woah, I've never ran that fast in heels!" She squealed.
20 minutes later...Jewel was walking down a path she had found before stumbling across..a sign. It read 'do not go further! Moonlight's cavern is ahead!' Jewel thought to herself.
"Hm. Strange..I'm nowhere near the dark forest though..is it tricking me?" She thought.
She rolled her eyes and continued on, ignoring the sign.

"I just don't know what could be troubling her. She hasn't come out of that room for a couple days now, it's weird." Opal sighed, holding her head in her hands.
Leo sat next for her, and comforted Opal as much as he could.
" listen, I'm sure she's fine! Just worried about scarlet I'd presume. I mean, she was pretty close with her whilst Sophie was 'hanging' out around the tower" Leo explained.
Opal nodded.
" yeah..your probably right."

Sophie paced around the room.
" this is so stupid! Why aren't my powers working !..."
She clenched her fists in annoyance.
Suddenly, she thought of an idea.
" I've just about had it..I don't need these powers. I'll get the elements of friendship safely back here without them."

Rain started to drop. Jewel covered her hair with her hands in panic.
" oh no, not rain! I can't have my amazing spy outfit and beautiful gorgeous locks ruined!" She squeaked and looked for shelter, and raced around the dark forest.
Another sign read 'crackerjack forest.'
Crackerjack forest...a familiar name..Jewel thought.
She continued walking, nervously looking around the forest. Suddenly, she found a cave. Without hesitation she ran into it to cover herself from the rain, and inside, luckily enough, she found the bangle!
" yes! Perfect! I can head back now!"
A bat fluttered its way past her, but the closer she looked Jewel saw a moon symbol on its back, glowing.
" what could the mean..."
" it means your in my territory, Jewel."
A cold but sinister voice sounded from behind her. Every thing warped, and Jewel felt funny.
" dont tell me..." she tried to breath but she couldn't.
She turned around..and looked upwards.
Red glinting eyes stared back. Long, ragged dark blue hair, with a sinister smile. She had moon symbols on her cheeks, although they weren't glowing like the bat. They were cracked, and dark. She was 100x bigger than Jewel. And wore a large gown with symbols and encrypted messages on it.
" moonlight..?"
Her laugh echoed.
" you must of heard of me, Jewel. Well of course. The beautiful fashionista do tell me how it's going?"
"I will not speak to you. You're evil!" Jewel shouted.
" oh so feisty! Just like you always are. You know, Sabrina was a lot like you when she was first created, throwing fits the lot! God was it entertaining."
" what do you want moonlight! I won't let you turn me into my negative half or whatever it's called, so don't even try manipulating me!" Jewel tried to run away, but moonlight used her power to stop her.
" I don't have the power to do that, you know. But I know someone who does.." she laughs sinisterly and turns around, revealing an image of a large rocky dinosaur like creature, sharp teeth and red eyes glaring down at Jewel.
" the QUAK'BR...I don't believe it....are you going to kill me?.."
" oh no, dearest jewel. We are just going to simply show you that sharing...isn't always caring." The QUAK'BR grunts and taps jewels head with his huge claw, and in that moment, Jewel becomes grey and dark with hostility.
" welcome, selfishness! To my world!" Moonlight laughs, and the QUAK'BR roars.
Jewel looks down at her silver bangle.
" this is all mine, all mine!"
Moonlight nods.
"Now go back to your...friends...and get Sabrina for me."
" yes, moonlight."
