3rd POV

The clash between SoVR: EX-Rise and Velzar Ultima was nothing short of a spectacle.

Where most IS duels fell into recognizable patterns—ranged fire, close combat, evasive maneuvers—this fight threw every rule out the window. Yap Haruto, back to full strength, was now reintroduced to the world in the most chaotic, calculated, and unpredictable way possible.

The arena quaked from the sheer velocity of their initial engagement. Both IS units blurred into motion—Velzar Ultima swept low to the ground with twin blades in hand, while EX-Rise met her with an angular pivot, bringing up a shotgun-like blaster that fired point-blank.

BOOM.

Rei skidded to the side, twisting in air just in time to avoid a second shell, her shoulder plating scorched but intact. Her response? A sudden deployment of small missile pods from her shoulders—hundreds of micro-rockets that locked onto Haruto in an instant.

"Oh for the love of-"

Haruto raised an energy barrier with one hand while deploying a magnetic mine with the other, detonating it prematurely to disperse half the swarm in a single flash of electromagnetic force. The rest he danced through, barely phased.

"Tch. Hybrid approach," Rei murmured, eyes narrowing behind her visor. She accelerated, now armed with a rail spear glowing with stored kinetic charge.

She lunged.

Haruto sidestepped, slapping her weapon away with a phase shield gauntlet before retaliating with a blade of his own—one that twisted unnaturally, changing shape mid-swing into a cleaver.

Clang!
Sparks flew.

Rei ducked low and twisted under his guard. "You're adapting faster than I expected."

Haruto chuckled, voice crackling through the comms. "I've had plenty of sparring partners. And more improvisation hours than I ever cared to admit."

He suddenly leapt back, drawing—

A sniper rifle.

Point blank.

CRACK!

Rei's entire frame tilted from the impact, but she activated her thrusters to stabilize midair. "A sniper at this range?!"

"Never said I was fair," Haruto drawled lazily. "That's your job."

Before she could retort, he launched a spinning drone from his shoulder—one that began circling her rapidly, disrupting her targeting systems with flashes of holographic interference.

She sliced it mid-spin, but that moment was all Haruto needed.

Suddenly—

Pulse grenades.

Not one, but six, each detonating in rapid succession, pushing her into a disoriented freefall.

Then he was on her.

Melee again—except this time he wasn't using a sword, nor a cleaver. It was a stun baton-like weapon, rapidly charging with kinetic energy. Each hit didn't cut—it slammed.

Rei roared, bursting outward in a flare of raw energy, sending him flying back across the arena with her propulsion field.

She followed with a massive energy bolt from her cannon-variant. Haruto twisted mid-air, used his thruster-backboost to bounce off the arena wall, came flying back—
