The discussion somehow became even louder after Rei Kuroshima unintentionally trapped herself into "considering" the class representative role.
Which, naturally, meant the group immediately treated it as confirmed.
"I still haven't agreed," Rei stated calmly.
"You basically did," Rin replied instantly.
"That is not how consent works."
"It is for class politics."
"That sounds deeply concerning."
Meanwhile Yap Haruto looked like someone reconsidering every life choice that led to this moment.
"You all terrify me."
"Too late to back out now," Rin said smugly.
"I absolutely can."
"Nope."
"Yes."
"Nope."
Laura watched the exchange quietly from the side, looking suspiciously entertained despite her otherwise stoic expression.
Then Kanzashi Sarashiki, who had been quietly scrolling through her tablet, suddenly spoke up.
"...Actually."
The table paused.
Kanzashi adjusted her glasses slightly.
"The 3-1 layout was uploaded earlier."
Immediate silence.
Then everyone leaned forward.
"Oh no," Haruto muttered.
Kanzashi placed the tablet onto the table.
A seating chart appeared.
Class 3-1
Names. Rows. Assigned positions.
Everyone immediately started searching for themselves.
Rin pointed first.
"HAH! Ichika's still near the middle."
Ichika blinked.
"Wait, why is that funny?"
"Because now teachers can see when you zone out."
"I do not zone out!"
"You absolutely do."
Charlotte giggled softly while locating her own seat.
"Oh! I'm near Cecilia."
Cecilia nodded approvingly.
"That should be pleasant."
Houki crossed her arms while scanning the chart analytically like it was battlefield positioning.
"...Interesting arrangement."
Then Haruto finally looked at his assigned seat.
A long pause followed.
"Seats," he said flatly.
"Anyone wants to say anything?"
Rin grinned immediately.
"Oh this should be good."
Haruto pointed directly at the chart.
"Yes."
He looked completely serious.
"Put me near the exit."
The table exploded into laughter.
"WOW," Rin wheezed, "not subtle at all!"
