Chapter 10

Cara's pov

Drake took me to meet his beta, Nick first. He was a real nice guy. His mate, Sara was a really shy girl, but I had a feeling we would be good friends. After Nick we saw Drakes third and fourth and there mates. They were also nice people.

"Ok so the next person I want you to meet is the pack historian." Drake tells me.

"The pack what?" I ask confuses.

"The pack historian. He keeps all of the records of the pack and other important things for werewolf kind." Drake explains. "He is a really nice guy and I think you will like him." Drake seems really excited about me meeting the pack historian.  I was going to ask why when Drake stopped walking. I looked and found we were standing by and enormous building. There was a banner that said 'Welcome to the Shadow Hunter Pack Library'. I gaped. This was their library?

"Yeah, I know it's not very big." Drake joked. I slapped his arm playfully and dragged him up the short amount of the stairs there were, into the library. I gaped even more when we entered. Bookshelf after bookshelf was lines up any where it would fit. I walked around with my mouth hanging open, running my hands over the books. I stopped when I realized there was an upstairs that had even more bookshelves, all over flowing. 

"Oh my god!" Drake walked up and gently pushed my jaw shut, only to have it open again, he laughed.

"I take it your impressed?" I stared at him. I don't know if there was a word for it but impressed was an understatement.

"I am in heaven." I managed to get out. Someone laughed but it wasn't Drake this time. I turned around to find a guy that most would call "geeky". With big classes and a checkered tie I watched as the pack historian walked down to meet Drake and I.

"Hi there, I am Ryan the pack historian." he held out his hand for me to take. I shook his hand and soon realized I would be spending a lot of time her.

"It's nice to meet you." I tell him.

"There is a lot I know you want to see and I want to show it all to you but first I want you to see some research I did." He tells me. "Follow me." he waves over his shoulder. Drake and I follow behind him.

"What kind of research have you been doing?" Drake asks.

"Well when I heard about Cara being a shape shifter it dawned on me that I didn't know much about them. I dug into the packs past and found one shape shifter back in the late 1800's. Her name was Kate Springs. When I did some more digging I found out something that I thought neither of you knew. I was going to call you when I heard you were taking Cara to meet pack members." he says to Drake. "Come look at what I found." he waves us over to a desk covered in papers.

"I made to copies so you could both read it at the same time." he hands us a single paper. I see a hint of worry in his eyes  when he hands us the paper. I quickly scan the paper and my jaw goes slack. What? No this can not be right.

"What the hell! Ryan!" Drake roars.

I keep staring at the words on the paper.    Shape shifters can have more than one mate.
