Chapter 12

        When I opened my eyes again I was laying in what I have come to know as my bed. I yawned and stretched before getting up and using the bathroom. I took a quick shower and changed into some clothes that one of Drakes pack members had bought for me.

      Since it was warm out I decided to wear and yellow tank top with ruffles along the neck line and some light blue shorts. I shoved my feet into some flip flops and made my way down to the kitchen. I smelt eggs and bacon and my mouth began to water.

     "Your awake." That wasn't Drakes voice. I spun around and found Ryan just behind me. "Sorry didn't mean to startle you." He brushed past me and into the kitchen. "Hope your hungry. I made eggs and bacon."

   I was confused why was Ryan here making me breakfast and where is Drake? "I know your probably confused, but just eat some breakfast and I'll explain." He told me.

   I walked around to the kitchen table and sat down. Ryan sat a steaming plate of eggs, bacon, and toast in front of me and my mouth started to water all over again. I quickly dug in trying to remind myself to chew. It's not like I haven't eaten in a while I was just really hungry.

   "Drake had to go off on some Alpha business and he asked me to come over and make you some breakfast." I stared at my plate for a moment wondering what kind of alpha business my mate could have left me for, before I asked him.

    "I knew you would ask. He didn't want me to tell you because he didn't want you to worry but don't worry I decided I would tell you." he paused.

   "What's wrong?" I asked his face quickly becoming pale.

   "We need to go now!" He grabbed my arm and dragged me out of the house. What was going on I wondered? I heard angry growls and howls coming from near by.

   "Ryan you need to tell me what's going on right now!' I wasn't asking him to tell me, I was commanding him to tell me.

  He hesitated at first but then he started spilling "There was a rouge, just one, that the patrols had seen. The rouge had asked to see Drake and so he went to go see the rouge this morning asking me to stay with you. But when I was going to tell you this Drake had started using the pack link and told me that there were a lot more rouges than they thought. They don't know why they are here yet, but Drake wants me to get you out of here." I stood still digesting everything he just told me.

   "Where." was all I said, expecting him to understand.

  "No Cara you can not get involved! If anything happens..." I cut him off with a glare. He pointed in the direction I heard the angry growls and howls coming from earlier. I gave him a weak smile before taking off at a run. Closer to where the battle was taking place I shifted to my hawk form figuring I would be safe and would be able to see everything that was going on.

I flew high and looked down. At first all I saw were trees when I found a break where a large clearing was. Down below wolves of all size and color were fighting. My eyes immediately finding my mates wolf and hardening with anger when I see he is being attacked by three wolves at once.

I flew into the tree line and shifted to my wolf form. With out thinking I ran out to where my mate was fighting and quickly jumped on the back of one of the wolves. Without hesitating I bit my canines into the wolfs throat and ending his life. I lifted my head to find Drake had already taking care of the other to wolves.

'What are you doing here?" he asks through the pack link.

'Helping you.' I say like it's the most obvious thing in the world.

'We will talk about this later.' he says and we quickly go help other wolves.

When the fight had ended I walked over to Drake covered in blood. 'Don't worry it's not mine.' I quickly tell him. We shift back to our human forms and Drake gives me a really big bear hug.

"I'm going to have a really big talk with Ryan about him letting you out of his sight." He said half joking.

I stiffened in his arms hearing something move. "What is it what's wrong?" He asks. I am about to reply when I grey wolf jumps out of the bushes and onto my mates back.
