Travis was panting when he got to BM motors although he had driven there. Must be the heat he lied to himself. He parked his car in his usual spot and made for the reception. He had walked this path at least twenty times but he kept looking over his shoulder like a thief. The reception greeted him warmly, a pleasantry passed down from generations, before looking up. The smile didn't fade even when they locked eyes, she must be new he resolved. When he gave her his name, her behavior spiked. Her voice became chirpier her output more cheerful, she probably wanted to curry some recognition and most likely get recommended for a promotion. Travis wasn't sure what promotion a receptionist could need, to be chief head of reception? He made his way to the main building where Julianna's office was careful not to arouse any attention. The worst case scenario was them calling the hospital where he was 'supposed' to be recuperating. Most people kept their gaze in their screen zealous to meet their inhumane deadlines, even if they glanced his way their sleep deprived eyes couldn't register anything aside figures, Travis thought how things would change if he succeeds in being heir. The area around Julianna's office to travis' advantage was deserted. Without Julianna on seat, the workers were spread out to enjoy this little freedom. Well all except Julianna's Secretary who decided to enjoy her freedom at her post filing her nails, something she dares not try with Julianna in the parameter. Travis was hoping it would go as smoothly as did with the receptionist but the look on her face when they looked eyes proved not. She seemed to have a lot to say but no words so she kept mumbling and making confusing gestures. Travis abandoned all hope of reasoning with her and made for the door hoping beyond all doubt that it would be open. It was. Travis barged in and scanned the parameters. The Secretary moved to stop him but kept tripping over her own feet Travis could tell if it was the fault was in the heels or the fact that she didn't want to be in an enclosed space with a guy who threw glass at his own mother. For the first time was grateful for the image. He carefully searched every drawer and cabinet till he finally found it. At least he thought he did.
There was a safe just below the window still where no body would think to look. Julianna didn't keep safes at home so Travis had no experience opening them. It had a number code, with his memory of watching people crack safes on tv, he decided to give it a go. First he tried Julianna's birthday, too obvious of course. Tried a marriage anniversary, tried his grandfather's birthday no budge. He didn't know anything about Harry, Arianna would know, this was a bad matchup Arianna should be here instead he thought. He began to panic after punching in random numbers. Outside he heard commotion then the familiar click of heels the Secretary was back and from the chorus of stumps she brought guests, he was running out of time until he heard a click the door fell open he didn't even know the combination that had done it. Well it didn't matter he wasn't planing on doing this again. He rummaged through the content documents upon documents mostly of members of the board Travis wasn't sure if to take them or just take pictures he didn't have time and taking load will slow his escape. His mind wheels running, his phone rang, the absolutely wrong timing. It was Arianna, He glanced to the door before picking "I can't really talk right now" he panted all the adrenaline turning to exhaustion. "I know,it's urgent. How do I get the attic door open?" Her voice came true almost in a whisper. The attic? He recounted all his memories but could only think of one time he had seen Julianna open the attic. "Oh umm I never actually been up there but I've seen Juliana go up she just pushed at the door like twice and it budges I think I'm not really sure" he summarized. The heels were nearer he could even see the bulky shadows now. He thought about asking Arianna what to do but there wasn't time "I gotta go" he disconnected the call and continued to rummage the documents down bellow like a top secret document in a Sci- fi was a brown file with the words 'will' written in type writer font. Without thinking twice or rereading to confirm it wasn't his imagination, he grabbed the file and slammed the door shut.
"Hey! Im going to need you to come with me" the voice arrived before the security guard. He was as clique as they come big build stretching full through his uniform black baton in hand, a smaller man followed him smaller but not lanky.
"Sorry but I'm going to have to go on ahead" Travis took the path heading the the lanky opponent closely in front of the secretary, she read his movement yelped and ran for cover the lanky guard had more guts than muscles. He squatted to a sumo pose ready to tackle him. Travis pulled of the obvious move, yes the one you unconsciously pull when you come face to face with someone on a narrow path, left then right, then right again, when he fell short, Travis immediately cut behind him and made for the door. Luckily there weren't any visitors waiting outside. He held his breath till he was down the elevator and out of the door. He unlocked his car and slumped in. The good thing about BM motors was that they never rose alarm or anything that would make the part they didn't want getting to the media, like the so called heir breaking into an office that would raise questions about their security. Travis was safe he thought. He drove home savoring his success, once in a while he would glance at the file perched on the seat beside him and giggle a bit.

Arianna was having the worst day she had managed to escape Julianna's manor through the back door on pure luck and Arianna didn't like giving credit to luck. She arrived at their hide out and tried to avoid eye contact with Mr. Benson, he kept asking her how it went but she was too occupied with self pity to let someone else pity her. Mr. Benson gave up and went about his work. Travis arrived about thirty minutes later. He was totally beaming with pride. The house was scarce of people except Arianna perched in a corner.
"Hey how did it go?" That was what Arianna didn't want to hear at all. He went in when he got no reply. "Look what I got!" He stretched the file to Arianna who took it reluctantly.
"I'm guessing it didn't go well but don't worry you bought time for me to get us just what we need" he blabbed proudly.
Arianna examined the file slowly, someone the 'will' written out front didn't seat well with her. She pulled it open. It was empty.
Arianna wanted to say "to get us what exactly" but stopped herself. This was indeed the worst day ever.
