When Hannah woke the next morning, she was alone. She reached a hand over to Paul's side of the bed. It was still warm; he obviously hadn't been gone that long. She glanced at the clock and seeing she still had time before she needed to get up, she snuggled back down under the covers, pulling them tightly around her.
A few minutes later, she heard noises coming from the living room area, before the secret door into her room was pushed open, very slowly, very carefully. She opened an eye to see Paul squeezing through the gap in the door.
"I am awake, you know." She yawned, catching him by surprise. "No need to creep around."
Paul chuckled. "Sorry. I was hoping to get back before you woke up."
Hannah just smiled and held her arms out to him, lifting the quilt. Paul grinned and bounded across the room, quickly sliding under the covers and pulling Hannah close to him, peppering her face with kisses. Once her giggling had subsided, they settled next to each other, Hannah still wrapped in his arms.
"So, why were you out of bed then?" Hannah asked, adjusting herself slightly to rest her head on his shoulder, placing the flat of her palm on his chest, right above his heart.
"I just thought we might like to have a nice, calm moment to ourselves before we went to face that lot again." Paul explained. "So, I brought up some milk and some coffee. It is only instant, mind."
"So where is it then?"
"Well, I was gonna get back into bed and wait until you were up and then go get the drinks. But when I came in, and you looked at me like that, I couldn't resist coming over for a cuddle." Paul admitted.
"Hmmm, as much as I'm enjoying the cuddle, I could probably do with the caffeine. Need something before we face them again." Hannah responded. "We can cuddle with the coffee, right?"
"If you insist!" Paul sighed, winking at the blonde as he got back out of the bed.
Hannah heard the kettle boiling and a few minutes later, Paul returned to the bedroom carrying two mugs. He waited until Hannah had sat up, leaning back against the headboard, before he handed her a mug. He then very carefully climbed back into bed, joining Hannah. They carefully rearranged themselves until she was leaning against his chest.
"I don't think I realised quite how anxious I was about telling them until we'd done it. I feel so much better this morning." Hannah smiled.
"Me too. Aaaaand, the best bit is, we don't have to keep our distance any more." Paul chuckled. "No more having to sit on my hands."
Hannah laughed at that. "That's true. I'm glad we've told them now."
"Same. Even if we can't tell everyone, I don't think I could have gone much longer having to pretend in front of them." Paul murmured, pressing a kiss to Hannah's temple. He drained his cup of coffee and placed it on the bedside table, before linking his hands together around Hannah's waist. "They would have guessed eventually anyway, but it was better coming from us."
"Yeah." Hannah sighed, leaning slightly away from Paul to set her mug down. "Anyway, I need a shower!"
With that, Hannah extracted herself from Paul's arms, getting out of bed and heading for the bathroom. When she reached the door, she turned back around to face her boyfriend with a mischievous look on her face.
"You not gonna come join me then?" She smirked, starting to giggle as Paul struggled to get out of bed and over to her quickly enough. He kissed her soundly before taking her by the hand and pulling her into the bathroom as she shut the door tightly behind them.
