"W-what?" I whispered, afraid that if I was too loud or something, that this would turn out to only be a dream.

"You heard me. Now come on. Tyler's waiting in the guest room." Chloe yanked my arm nearly out of its socket trying to pull me away. To avoid serious injury, I went with her.

I was rewarded with the truth. Tyler was waiting. With Lindsay with him. Chloe closed the door behind me and went to sit down next to Lindsay.

"What's going on, guys?" I asked, refusing to sit down.

The others looked at each other.

"Are you sure this is a good idea, you guys? I mean, she might not take this well." Lindsay asked, not looking at me.

"Tell me." I demanded.

"See!" Tyler gestured at me. "She deserves to know! Its been over three months now! Its bad enough that our parents won't tell her. Now she can't trust her own friend." Tyler let out an uncharacteristic loud anger fit while he said this.

Lindsay looked down at the comforter beneath herself, shutting her mouth. The room was silent for a few seconds.

"Avery, I want to say how sorry I am that I couldn't tell you before this, but I hope I can make this up to you." Tyler started.

"Just tell me. I can't stand not knowing. I love him, and I want to be able to see him. And know him. And touch him. Not a memory."

Tyler took a deep breath. "You know, at least, that Karl was your friend?" I nodded.

"Well, you were actually a bit more than friends." As he spoke, there was more timing between his words.

It took a second for me to fully process what he had just told me. When I did, though, the information hit me like a train. I lurched forward, and fell to my knees. My head split in half with a brutal pain. I let out a loud moan, and collapsed onto the floor.
