"I'll fight to the world for you... But never hurt you. Love... never..."

"Tae...

Taehyung???" Bogum shook him harshly when he saw Taehyung lost in thought but a sweet smile lingered on his pretty face.

"Oh... what were you saying... sorry... I... I'm just distracted by something." His face became red as he was caught red-handed, doing something unholy.

Bogum observed his face and shook his head smiling.

"You are looking happy. What happened hmm?" After sipping from the coffee that was placed in front of him, he eyed Taehyung with amusement.

"Nothing... tell me the things that you want to tell. I didn't tell about our meetup and my phone is dead now, Jungkook will be worried for me." Bogum nodded and told him the things that were told to him. After listening to the whole thing Taehyung's eyes lit up. He clapped excitedly after hearing the perfect surprise.

"That will be great. And I promise you'll be happy with him as well as he... can you call granny too?" Bogum stayed quiet but nodded after a cute pout from the blue-haired boy.

"I'll tell her too. Just be on time okay?" Taehyung nodded and quickly grabbed his takeout. He packed something for his Jungkookie to make him happy because he was looking so pale over the last two nights.

Taehyung was so happy when he entered the vampire castle. He was skipping his steps but halted when he saw a blurry scene of his past again. That caused him to stop where he was now. He sat quietly, his breath uneven, as the vision overtook him, so vivid it felt like he had stepped back into another existence.

Laughter echoed in his ears, not from the present, but from a life long buried. He saw himself—human, fragile, yet wrapped in the arms of the same vampire, his Jungkook.

Jungkook's eyes, ageless and haunting, were different in that memory—softer, gentler, brimming with warmth that time and bloodshed had not yet stolen.

They were walking beneath silver moonlight in a courtyard he did not recognise, but his heart did. Their hands were intertwined, their smiles unguarded. He remembered the way the vampire’s cloak had brushed against his skin as they danced under the stars, as though the world existed only for them.

The vision made his chest ache. It was not just a memory; it was a reminder that his soul had always belonged here, tethered through centuries of loss and rebirth. Tears welled in his eyes—not from sorrow, but from the piercing sweetness of knowing he had once been loved so fiercely, and still was.

When the vision faded, he found himself trembling, his mate’s cool hand resting gently against his cheek. Jungkook's gaze searched his, as if silently asking what he had seen. And though no words were spoken, their bond answered for them.

"I remember… I remember us."
He whispered, voice breaking...

And in that moment, the vampire’s eternal mask cracked—revealing joy, relief, and the promise of love that had defied death itself.

For a heartbeat, neither moved. The silence stretched, heavy with the gravity of years lost and memories buried. Then, as though drawn by an invisible thread, they closed the distance.
