As jungkook said dare we all looked at him.
Soobin smirked and nods "ok dare it is..." He stands up and breath dramatically.
"So.... The dare is..." Just as soobin was about to say Lisa intruped him.
"Wait I think we should stop playing it for now" I look at her suddenly as I sign in relief.
Jungkook looks at her and said "whyy?" , sobbin also nods and said "yeh whyy? Let's play last round atleast "
Rosie laughs and said "we are returning back right?" As lisa nods and said "oppa we had so much fun this 3 days thank u" jungkook look at her and smile lightly "no need to say that you guys can come anytime" as soobin laughs and said "oky then I'll come back soon" then they goes back to the hotel.
...........................
At hotel.
They goes to their room and checked out after couple of minutes and went back on the car
The four days away had been exhausting but fun. Soobin’s calm, gentle nature made everything easier, while Rosé and Lisa filled the air with laughter and energy. With them around, the silence that usually lingered between Jungkook and me didn’t feel so heavy.
But now, as the car rolled through the quiet streets on our way back home, the atmosphere was different. The cousins had dozed off in the backseat—Rosé leaning against Lisa’s shoulder, Soobin with his head tilted toward the window. The only ones awake were Jungkook and me.
He drove with one hand on the wheel, his posture relaxed but his expression unreadable. I stole a glance at him, wondering if he was tired. He hadn’t spoken much the whole trip, even when his cousins tried to pull him into conversations.
“You look tired,” I said softly, breaking the silence.
His eyes flicked toward me for a second before returning to the road. “I’m fine.”
Simple. Cold. Typical Jungkook.
Still, I couldn’t ignore the way his jaw tightened when I laughed a little too hard at Lisa’s jokes earlier that day, or how his gaze lingered when Soobin had helped me carry my bag. At first, I thought I imagined it… but now, sitting in the stillness of the car, I wasn’t so sure.
“You seemed to enjoy yourself,” Jungkook murmured suddenly, his voice low.
I blinked, caught off guard. “Huh?”
“With them,” he clarified, his fingers tightening around the steering wheel. “You laughed a lot.”
My lips parted in surprise. Was he… annoyed? “Well… they’re fun to be around. And they made me feel comfortable.”
For a moment, he didn’t say anything. The only sound was the hum of the engine. Then, quietly, almost too soft to catch, he added:
“You don’t laugh like that with me.”
The words hit harder than I expected, and I turned to look at him, but his expression gave nothing away. His eyes stayed fixed on the road, but the tips of his ears were faintly red.
My heart skipped, confused and restless.
By the time we reached the mansion, the cousins were still sleeping. I moved to wake Soobin, but Jungkook’s hand gently caught mine.
“I’ll take them,” he said firmly, his voice leaving no room for argument.
He stepped out and carefully lifted Soobin first, his muscles tense but movements steady. When he came back for Rosé and Lisa, he threw me a quick glance—one that lasted only a second but carried something I couldn’t name.
Something heavy. Something that made my pulse quicken.
That night, lying in bed, I couldn’t stop replaying his words.
You don’t laugh like that with me.
For the first time since the wedding, I wondered if beneath his coldness… Jungkook cared more than he let on.
