The fire not only called all sorts of guards, maids, and lots of water, but it began to burn the plants outside of the window. Somehow, you felt that might be helpful, like those plants wouldn't let you leave whether you went out the window or not.
No one seemed to notice you dart out the door and out of wherever you were. They probably hadn't been informed to keep you there.
As you looked up at the building you felt it looked familiar before realizing it was the imperial palace. How important was Hakuruyuu or was he really THAT Hakuruyuu? You sighed, getting away from royalty was definitely going to be a pain. Well, you had a bit of confidence. Your older sister, Chiyo, had taught you many things if something like this happened, well at least she did before she died.
You didn't think much about your sister anymore. You only ever thought two things about her now. She hated blue bloods and got herself killed for it, however her little passion for stealing from them would definitely come in handy.
You wandered to the outskirts of Rakushou. Finally you arrived at a little shack. You opened it to a pretty much empty room. You walked in and opened up a trap door and went down to see what, lets say, your inheritance was from her. As it creaked open and you entered lots of gold sparkled in the light which shone down. You let your mouth gape open at the riches and even heard yourself say aloud, "It's like a freaking Dungeon in here!" What kind of thing did she do to get all this?
Well, that didn't matter. All you cared about was that you had somewhere safe to stay. After all, a lot of planning was put into the location of this place. Your sister was after all a master thief!

<< Judal's POV >>
She wasn't there! She wasn't anywhere. The fire had burned everything beyond recognition. Everything was ashes and if she did burn in there, she would unlikely be found in the wreckage. As the feel of actual tears went down my face I couldn't believe that someone could effect me this much. What the hell! I was even crying like a stupid baby!
I couldn't believe this. She always seemed strong, but now I came to the realization that she wasn't. She was really just some weak pathetic girl! But, that utter patheticness was what made me now wish I had protected her. If I could just have gone back in time I would never EVER have let her out of my sight again. I would have done whatever it took to keep her away from harm. But, I had been stupid enough to think she could take care of herself just because she had that damn smart mouth!
I left the palace, back to her empty home. Some part of me almost thought she would be there. The silence made me want to destroy the house which looked so peaceful as if the owner hadn't died. I froze at the thought that she had been alive just the day before, if only I stayed with her! Damn it!

<< Your POV >>
You held a basket of food and other necessities as you walked away from a neighbor's home. Never had you ever risked going into the marketplace, so instead you paid quite the hefty price for a neighbor to do it for you. You sighed, you were already used to this all. Well, it had already been a year since that fire and no one had found you.
At first, life was too peaceful without Judal bursting into it all the time, but you quickly adapted and began to remember how great the quiet was. Everything was nice and just something about being there made you happier. It was just so different from living further into the town.
As you made your way back to the house you noticed a group of three little boys, around 6 years old running about eating peaches. Those peaches brought back memories. How long has it been since you had peaches? After leaving your peach tree you hadn't really eaten them that much.
You smiled at the kids who smiled back before beginning to run off again. They looked like they were having fun. You called out to them before they could go too far. "Hey kids! I know where you can get some peaches for free!" And you gave them directions to your old house.
After that you saw those same three boys with peaches every single day practically. They must really like peaches. The peach juice dripped down their chins as they waved sticky hands to you and you waved back. As you began to walk off while they ran in another direction you heard a familiarly angry voice. "Hey you brats! Why the hell do you keep stealing these peaches?! They are too important for morons like you three to even think of looking at!" That voice! You hadn't heard it in forever! That positively irritating voice of Judal.
You began to hustle away trying to hide your face from view until you heard, "she told us we could have them for free!" Darn it! Those kids, ratting you out!
With that you darted off. The life you had, had been peaceful and now it looked like it was about to be ruined. Judal was for sure going to hand you over to his buddy Hakuruyuu, right?!
Judal hovered above you to keep up before grabbing your wrist to prevent you from going any further. "Hey!" He pulled your wrist, flinging you around to face him.
His face quickly warped from a glare to a sad surprised face. He seemed to tremble slightly before questioning, "(N-Name)?" His grip loosened on you and he touched you as if you were the most delicate thing in existence. He also had this look on his face like he had found a long lost treasure. Not ever before had Judal ever been this gentle with you.
"Surprise..." You muttered as you tried to move away from him, but his grip began to harden, making you unable to leave him.
"I thought you were dead!" He growled at you. "I can't let that happen again!" He grabbed you and put you over his shoulder before flying off.
