'If you know what's good for you, you will stay away from them.'
Jungkook had a lot of enemies. He was the kind of guy who wasn't exactly willing to go out of his way to please people around him. He usually found enjoyment in genuinely making the people around him annoyed or angry.
Usually, that wasn't a problem; he was aware he did this. It's what made him the perfect manager. The issue, however, was that when he received a threatening text, there were probably hundreds of people who were pissed off bad enough to threaten him.
To make the situation worse for him, he now manages a rising boy group, so the possibilities are endless. He wanted to just brush it off as a crazy fan, he really did, but something about it gave him this feeling. A type of unease that crept up his shoulders and latched right on, he didn't exactly know what his instincts were trying to tell him, but he didn't plan to ignore it.
He stared over the text again, reading it over and over like he'd miraculously gain new information from it. He had his knees pulled to his chest, his tongue darting out to wet his bottom lip, having forgotten his Chapstick at home.
It was sent last night. He thought about bringing it up to Namjoon, but the thought of talking to him, more specifically, initiating a conversation, made him tense up like he was in the coldest room possible. He didn't want to tell Jin either; they were at a perfect medium right now, and he wasn't willing to push it.
He wasn't exactly sure what to do for once. He wanted to bring it up, but the idea of asking for help sounded like too much for him. He wasn't exactly fond of the concept of letting someone else be in control of the situation. He didn't know why exactly he felt so weird about it, almost ashamed, but it made him too uneasy to bring it up, even to Bang Si Hyuk.
It was unwarranted anxiety.
For some reason, Jungkook felt like he was in trouble.
He sighed softly, thumb dragging on the screen, causing his phone to refresh over and over. He didn't have much better to do, and his thoughts were already clouded. He had a lot on his mind, whether it was the texts, his future, or the boys he was supposed to be managing; he had plenty to think about.
It was a slow day for Jungkook. He was scheduled to go with Hoseok to the dance studio, and that was about it for him. He had noticed his schedule had really eased up a bit; it was still definitely overwhelming, but it could be manageable for someone like him.
Jungkook thrived off it; he would usually hate days that felt like they dragged on forever, but it was different today. Tomorrow, he was scheduled with Jimin to shoot for his new music video Serendipity, and while Jungkook didn't mind going out, he wasn't particularly fond of the idea of being around Jimin for that long with no other members to balance it out.
Out of the six, Jimin happened to be the most blatant with his disdain for Jungkook. Taehyung ignoring his existence was fine, Yoongi side eyeing him every chance he got was fine, but Jimin? He was downright relentless. Ignoring Jungkook's texts, knocking on his door to complain at odd hours, Jungkook knew fledglings could be protective, but this was unexpected even for him.
He almost found it amusing that the two members he preferred the most before truly knowing BTS happened to be the ones who hated him the most. Then again, he found people hating him in general amusing, like a secret little love of his he wouldn't tell anyone about.
Jimins blatantly hostile behavior would be problematic for a solo music video shoot. Jungkook did not need him acting out in front of people like that. He didn't care if he got yelled at; he did care if his group's reputation was ruined. He had to practically pay that photographer off after the incident with Taehyung, so he couldn't fathom how he'd deal with a fledgling outburst.
